"Buy her some food, flowers or something, don't come empty-handed."
The Duke said as he told his daughter to buy her teacher something, not wanting to come off as rude, coming to someone's house without anything on their hand, especially when the person was sick.
"Don't worry Dad, I already got that covered."
Lady Melissa said, as she had bought some food the previous day from La Vien En Rose, and as luck would have it, she hadn't eaten any of the food there, and neither had it been touched.
Lady Melissa quickly ate her breakfast, as she went upstairs to her room to take a few items, as she asked Sophia to take the food that she had bought from La Vien En Rose the other day, hoping that Duchess Ella would like it and appreciate it.
Lady Melissa soon went downstairs, ready to go and meet her dearest teacher, still feeling a little guilty that the reason why Duchess Ella had gotten hit by a bullet was because of her, which may or may not be her reason for visiting her teacher and bringing gifts along with her.
Admittedly, if it was any other person, such as one of the nobles she didn't like or care for, or even the Crown Prince or the King, she would be more than ecstatic, or she wouldn't care.
It was one of the two, but the universe just had to spite her and hit one of the few people Lady Melissa cared for, her teacher.
Lady Melissa had a sort of teacher-student relationship with her teacher, but sometimes it felt as if Duchess Ella was some sort of parental figure to her, a third parent if she could even say so herself.
Sometimes, well actually most of the time, Lady Melissa would spend more time with Duchess Ella than with her own parents combined.
Though it wasn't much of a surprise for her with how little time she spent with her parents each week, and how much time compared to that she spent on practising her swordsmanship skills.
Lady Melissa soon got down, as she entered the carriage, Sophia with her this time as she thought that it would be too much of a hassle for Sophia to use the other carriage, and since this time it wasn't any sort of social gathering or event, Lady Melissa decided that it was alright for Sophia to ride in the same carriage as her.
"Where are we going?"
Sophia curiously asked, Lady Melissa, as her master hadn't mentioned where they were going or even what they were going to do.
Lady Melissa had completely forgotten about that fact.
"We're going to see Duchess Ella."
Lady Melissa bluntly said, as Sophia quickly shut her mouth after that, not even realizing that she had said those words out loud, and she had certainly not expected Lady Melissa to respond to her with how she had been acting to both her and Justin the past few days.
Sophia and Lady Melissa spent the remaining time with each other in comfortable silence or uncomfortable silence for Sophia.
Lady Melissa had brought along a book with her, she had recently finished 'No Longer Human' by Dazai Osamu and she was going to read another one of the books that he had recently purchased.
More specifically she was going to start reading 'Schoolgirl' by Dazai Osamu, as she flipped through the first few pages.
Lady Melissa had specifically asked the librarian in the Shayla estate to buy all of Dazai Osamu's books for her, though it was taking quite a while because of the fact that they were from Japan.
Hence it took some time for them to be imported to where she was, and she had already asked the bookkeeper to buy the English version of it as well since she didn't know a single bit of Japanese.
Soon enough, Lady Melissa had finally reached her destination; which was Duchess Ella's estate.
Lady Melissa was greeted by the numerous servants and maids, as Lady Melissa assumed Duchess Ella's secretary or head butler ask her something.
"Do you have any business to do here? Did you make an appointment?"
The man said, as he quickly glanced at Lady Melissa, looking at her up and down.
"No, I'm here to see Duchess Ella."
Lady Melissa casually said as the man quickly replied to her.
"Unfortunately, Duchess Ella isn't in the perfect condition to see guests, much less entertain one, so I'm sorry to disappoint you."
The man said as he explained to Lady Melissa that Duchess Ella wasn't in the condition to see her, even though Lady Melissa already knew that fact, she wanted to see how her teacher was doing.
Suddenly, a noise interrupted Lady Melissa's conversation with the head butler, more specifically, from the door.
Lady Melissa turned her head in the direction from where the noise came from as she momentarily ignored the head butler's words.
It was none other than Duchess Ella's husband who was leaving a room; which Lady Melissa assumed was Duchess Ella's room or at least the room she was going to be in for the meantime.
"What if I have permission from her husband to talk to her? I'll be allowed to then right?"
Lady Melissa said, as she quickly found another solution to her problem since the head butler was unwilling to let her see Duchess Ella.
"I guess so bu-"
The head butler said before he was cut off by Duchess Ella's husband who came to see what the both of them were talking about.
The man's eyes widened, he realized that it was his wife's student as he glanced at the head butler, having an idea of what their argument was or had been about.
"She can come in."
The man said, not even having a second thought as he knew how happy his wife would be if she saw one of her student's faces.
Duchess Ella's husband quickly led the way to his wife's room, as Lady Melissa soon followed after him.
