Chapter 205 - 205

"She's inside here."

Duchess Ella's husband said as he stopped right in front of a door, it turns out her assumption of him leaving his wife's room was wrong since Lady Melissa had to climb a flight of stairs before she would be able to enter her teacher's room.

"Thank you."

Lady Melissa said as the man opened the door for her, letting her inside.

"Good Afternoon Duchess Ella, how are you feeling?"

Lady Melissa said as she bowed her head down, not seeing Duchess Ella's figure or body yet.

"Ella, I brought her inside since she really wanted to see you. Is that alright with you? If it's not, I can always ask her to leave and she can come back later."

Duchess Ella's husband said as Lady Melissa thought that it probably would be better for her to introduce herself after Duchess Ella had answered her husband's question.

"It's fine, you can leave now, I'll see you later."

Duchess Ella said, as her husband quickly gave her the kids, glancing one last time at his wife and Lady Melissa before he left.

Lady Melissa finally looked up, she had somehow expected Duchess Ella to look sad and pitiful for some reason; even when she knew better than anyone that her teacher wouldn't look or act that way.

"I brought you some sweets, which I hope you like, they're from La Vien En Rose, I'll just put it on the table beside you."

Lady Melissa said, as she quickly went to the table beside Duchess Ella, putting the sweets that were in a plastic bag on the table.

"Thank you for the sweets Lady Melissa, and to answer your question earlier, I'm completely fine. It's just that people are making a big deal out of this."

Duchess Ella elegantly said as her back was completely laid on her bed, as she looked up, not even looking at Lady Melissa.

"Well, in their complete defence you were shot by a gun, and it was in the stomach no less."

Lady Melissa said as she explained why Duchess Ella's loved ones were so worried about her.

"I understand, but I've faced much worse; so the pain has just become numb for me. I don't feel it anymore."

Duchess Ella said, as she explained to Lady Melissa whilst Lady Melissa nodded her head, she related to Duchess Ella in a way regarding the pain of being numb.

Lady Melissa would just sometimes feel numb to the pain when she received pain in real life because of the nightmares she would have of the brunette-haired woman murdering her.

It was obvious that Lady Melissa had developed some kind of trauma from the nightmares she would receive about the brunette-haired woman killing her.

"Sorry I can't sit with you and serve you tea, I'd love to do that right now and have a normal conversation with you but I can't."

Duchess Ella said as she stared at the ceiling as Lady Melissa realized that it was probably hard or difficult for her to even stare in Lady Melissa's direction.

"I prefer not seeing your face anyways when you talk, though you don't need to apologize for anything, I'm content with even being able to have a conversation with you right now."

Lady Melissa jokingly said to Duchess Ella as she continued staring at the ceiling, letting out a laugh at Lady Melissa's joke.

Lady Melissa had made the joke in hopes of lightening up the mood in the room, she could feel that Duchess Ella was a little tense and upset, which Lady Melissa couldn't blame.

"So, I assume that lessons are cancelled for the meantime?"

Lady Melissa asked Duchess Ella who answered her without a heartbeat.

"What'd ya think?"

Duchess Ella jokingly replied to Lady Melissa, only now realizing that she sounded rude, since she had only thought it'd be funny in her head.

"I'll take that as a yes, how long do you think you're going to be resting?"

Lady Melissa asked Duchess Ella who thought for a few seconds, making a rough estimation on how long it'd take for her to heal or return to normal.

"A week, or less probably, in the meantime just do the normal swordsmanship training I tell you to do every lesson. You'll make it through."

Duchess Ella said as she gave Lady Melissa a warm smile, though technically she gave the ceiling a warm smile.

"You don't need to remind me, Duchess Ella, I'm more than capable of doing so, just focus on getting better and don't overwork yourself."

Lady Melissa said, reminding Duchess Ella not to overwork herself as she knew that her teacher was going to do just that.

Lady Melissa and Duchess Ella had similar personalities, after all, both being stubborn, hard-working and having a terrible habit of overworking themselves.

"I can say the same thing to you, though it was nice seeing you, Lady Melissa, I'm thankful you came to see me."

Duchess Ella said as she gave Lady Melissa another warm smile or rather-the ceiling.

"Likewise, what do you do nowadays? Do you just stare at the ceiling since it's harder to look in any other direction than up?"

Lady Melissa curiously asked, wondering what Duchess Ella now did on a daily basis.

"I guess you can say that the doctors say that it'll be easier for me to start looking in other directions in a few days."

Duchess Ella said, telling Lady Melissa when she'd be able to look in other directions and not just upwards.

Lady Melissa glanced at the clock, realizing just how much time had passed that she spent talking with her teacher.

"I'd say it's been a pleasure meeting you, but it hasn't been."

Lady Melissa jokingly said to which her teacher let out a laugh.

"On a serious note though, take care of yourself alright? And get well soon, I can't wait to win against you in another duel."

Lady Melissa said as she bowed down to Duchess Ella, giving her teacher a warm smile, happy to know that her teacher was absolutely fine.

Lady Melissa already knew that before this Duchess Ella was probably fine, but she needed to see her teacher herself, just to make sure.
