Chapter 207 - 207

"Fine."

Lady Melissa reluctantly said as she hoped that she had made the right decision by saying yes.

"Under one condition though."

Lady Melissa said as Duke Mason raised his eyebrows, wondering what Lady Melissa's condition would be.

"I don't go to jail and I don't need to murder anyone."

Lady Melissa said as Duke Mason let out another laugh, smiling at her as if he was humoured by her antics, whilst Lady Melissa was simply confused, wondering why Duke Mason was laughing at her.

"Oh don't worry about that, my favor isn't that big anyway."

Duke Mason said, as he slowly approached Lady Melissa, standing up in front of her, as she looked up at him, wondering just what he was going to do, nonetheless she had her guard up just in case he was going to do anything to her.

Duke Mason moved his body downwards, as his face was just a few feet away from hers, she could feel her face heating up with just how close they were, and how easy it would be for her to close the distance between the two of them.

"I want you to call me by my name, don't be formal or anything, just address me by my name. I want to hear you say it."

Duke Mason said, as he moved his body away from hers, Lady Melissa missed the breath that was above her just a few seconds ago-his breath.

"What?"

Lady Melissa asked confused, out of all the things she had expected for him to ask from her, this was certainly not at the top of her list, or even on her list if she was being honest.

"You heard me. Or do I need to repeat it again for you?"

Duke Mason said as he looked down on her small figure, how small she was and how easily it would be for him to destroy him- though he quickly snapped out of his thoughts, remembering that she was still there, and in front of him nonetheless.

"I guess I can call you that, Trafford."

Lady Melissa said, as she quickly noticed the displeased look on Duke Mason's face, wondering why his face was scrunched up like that when she had done exactly what he had told her to do, as he let out a sigh of disappointment.

"I want you to call me by my name, my first name. Mason."

Duke Mason said as he intimidatingly stared down on Lady Melissa's small figure, as Lady Melissa stood up, deciding that it was time for her to play with fire; after all, she couldn't be the only one getting burnt.

"Mason."

Lady Melissa said, mumbling under her breath, as Duke Mason was still displeased, he wanted to hear her say his name out loud.

"Say it again, out loud this time."

Lady Melissa stood up, a sly smirk on her face as she leaned closer to Duke Mason, her face only a few inches apart from his as he could feel her breath on his face, as she said his name again this time.

"Mason, now. Can you start telling me all the information you have on her?"

Lady Melissa asked as she took a seat back, Duke Mason was distracted by the events that had just happened right in front of his eyes just a few seconds ago. There it was, the other Lady Melissa.

It was as if she had split personalities-, on one hand she could be a blushing mess, as she acted shy and cute, whilst on the other she was the complete opposite of it, acting brave and flirtatious.

"Fine, fine, I was having a moment you know?"

Duke Mason said as he complained, whining about how he was having a moment before Lady Melissa had rudely interrupted the moment of his.

"Oh please."

Lady Melissa jokingly said as she rolled her eyes at him, he quickly replied to her previous actions, as he scoffed at her before his attitude took a complete 180 changing as he took out a file.

"There's not a lot of information on her file for some reason, the only thing that we're able to find is her name, her age and how she got acquainted with the Crown Prince, she had only appeared in the palace a few times as well."

Duke Mason said as he put the file containing all the information that the guild had managed to find about the brunette-haired woman-his guild.

"So I assume that all the information about her was either deleted by someone or she had somehow managed to hide from practically everyone for her entire life? Or perhaps the people who do know of her identity are being loyal to her."

Lady Melissa said as she thought of the multiple reasons how the brunette-haired woman was able to go unnoticed so easily, only a few pieces of information about her.

And the few available pieces of information about her were found by one of the most dangerous guilds in the capital, maybe even the whole world, so it was somewhat concerning and suspicious of the fact that the guild had found so little information regarding the brunette-haired woman.

"I've thought of the possibilities, but I can't say anything yet for certain, I have a couple of my employees watching her every move though, I'm sure you also noticed how suspicious it is with how little information I've gotten with her, even I was surprised with the lack of information and tried to find more myself, but it was a dead end."

Duke Mason said as he explained to Lady Melissa how he himself was concerned and surprised with the lack of information that his guild had gotten regarding the brunette-haired woman.

"Well, it's good to hear, hopefully, you'll get more information about her, if you don't it's definitely going to be looking more and more suspicious, especially with how quickly the both of them announced their engagement."

Lady Melissa said, as she mentioned how quickly the both of them announced their engagement, when they had only appeared in public twice, the first time the Crown Prince brought her as his date, and the second time they had already announced their engagement.
