Chapter 226 - 226

Lady Melissa knew that the Queen would rather have her on her side- rather than Concubine Beatrice's.

Most of the nobles preferred Concubine Beatrice anyways because of the fact that they had paid her to seduce the King, a fact which nobody knew about, including the King.

And neither did Lady Melissa know about it- yet.

Lady Melissa started writing a letter to Duke Mason, then Duke Gaston as she greeted them before going straight to the point.

She decided that she'd just order Justin to deliver the letters for her- and if he wasn't there then she'll just order her other bodyguards to do it for her instead.

"Call Justin to come in here for a second, I need him to do something for me."

Lady Melissa casually said to Nathan as he nodded his head, leaving her room to find Justin and to bring him to Lady Melissa's room.

"Come in."

Lady Melissa said as Justin entered her room, bowing his head down whilst he proceeded to greet her, sensing Nathan's eyes on his figure.

"I need you to deliver this letter to Duke Mason, and this other letter to Duke Gaston, send me back their replies."

Lady Melissa said as she used her left hand to hold up the letter for Duke Mason, and her right hand to hold up the letter for Duke Gaston, not wanting Justin to be confused about which was which.

"The one on the left is for Duke Mason, whilst the one on the right is for Duke Gaston, alright?"

Lady Melissa asked Justin as he nodded his head, understanding.

"Alright, off you go."

Lady Melissa jokingly said as she let out a smile, wondering when perhaps both the Dukes would be available.

Lady Melissa was excited at least for the charity event, it was happening in the span of two days, less than forty-eight hours.

Lady Melissa hadn't been the nicest person to children- especially in her past life, she had always liked them but she never knew how to express it.

Hence because of her cold and shy attitude, children would usually cry when they saw her, not that she could blame them because of it.

Lady Melissa had to admit that she did have an intimidating face- at least to children if only she could say the same to adults.

Though nowadays in this life she'd say she intimidated both adults and children with her cold looks and attitude.

Lady Melissa was going to be happy seeing children being happy- she liked seeing others happy, be it her family members, friends or even a random stranger.

Except if it was someone she hated with a burning passion of course, someone like the Crown Prince.

Justin soon came back with no letters in his hand as Lady Melissa raised an eyebrow, did they perhaps just tell their answer to Justin? She didn't have a problem with it though.

"Here is the letter from Duke Gaston."

Justin casually said as he handed the letter to her, it turns out that he had hidden it behind his back, and hence Lady Melissa wasn't even able to see that there was a letter.

Lady Melissa raised her eyebrow once more, what about the one from Duke Mason? Did he perhaps tell his answer to Justin verbally? Or had he for some reason not given an answer yet?

"Where's the one from Duke Gaston Justin?"

Lady Melissa asked Justin as he quickly replied to her question, and the answer was just what she had expected-kind of.

"He said that he'd tell you when he finds out, he's currently busy with something right now so unfortunately, he couldn't tell me when he was free immediately, he didn't say either how he'd tell you."

Justin said as Lady Melissa nodded her head- when else would Duke Gaston be able to tell her within the week? Nonetheless, she opened Duke Mason's letter as she began to read it.

It was nothing too fancy, the man simply starting off the first few lines with a couple of flirting- something that Lady Melissa had already gotten used to with Duke Mason with how much he would flirt with her.

Though sometimes, even she herself would be caught off guard by his flirting, most of his flirting were very suggestive( if you know what I mean;)) and the others were cheesy.

Some of them were romantic, and others were even poetic-somehow. Lady Melissa wondered whether all the pick-up lines he had used on her were actually all the ones he made by himself.

Honestly, she highly doubted so, there were some pick-up lines that would even catch her off-guard, and as greatly she thought of him, there was no way he would be able to think of some of the pick-up lines himself.

Some of them were even related to academics-mainly chemistry, and the one that had caught her off-guard the most (that was chemistry-related) was the line 'I wish I was adenine so I could get paired with you.'

Granted that it wasn't the best pick-up line that Duke Mason had said to her, but for some reason out of nowhere, her face was flushed when she heard that line of his.

Ever since that had happened, Duke Mason had taken down notes( not literally) to make sure to make more chemistry-related pick up lines, as well as academic ones to use on Lady Melissa.

Another pick-up line that was practically engraved into her brain, an academic one as well, was a math-related one that Duke Mason had actually used on her quite recently.

It was 'Why don't you be the numerator and I will be the denominator and the both of us reduce to the simplest form?'

Duke Gaston had said that as he sent a wink to Lady Melissa, who had ended up as a blushing mess because of it, not like anyone could even blame her for such a thing and certainly not any of Duke Mason's fangirls.

Duke Mason had a number of nobles who were interested in him as well-perhaps even now, more than Duke Gaston.
