Chapter 264 - 264

Lady Melissa had managed to safely exit her parent's room, as her bodyguards were still distracting her parents, as she felt that something wasn't right, yet she couldn't put a finger on it, though she shrugged it off, after all, what could be not right?

She had managed to successfully retrieve the deed to the Shayla estate's mines, so what could be this uneasy feeling she had? Something weird was going on, and she kept her guard up for it, knowing that it'd be a mess if she kept her guard down.

Especially with her instincts telling her that something was up she was definitely not gonna let her guard down, that was a complete no brainer, at least for Lady Melissa it was.

Lady Melissa went back to her room, as she had managed to teleport there, finding it a hassle to walk all the way back to her room, knowing that she could get caught any second with the numerous maids and servants that worked for the Shayla estate.

Although she had already left her parents room, and for some reason, she didn't just teleport from when she was inside her parent's room, she only decided to teleport now- after she had exited her parent's room.

Nonetheless, Lady Melissa had managed to safely get back to her room, with the use of teleportation, as she put the deed inside her limited pouch, the one that she would use to put items that she would definitely need.

It contained important items, such as gold coins, just in case she had forgotten to bring her wallet, so she could pay for her food or something, although it was usually the men who paid, Lady Melissa, didn't see what the big deal was.

After all, it was just money, a certain gender didn't have to pay for something, though that was her opinion.

She had heard that a man would feel embarrassed or humiliated when a woman paid for them, which was why not many women paid for their husbands since they didn't want to shatter their fragile egos.

The ones that did though would receive heavy criticism from the media, questioning the woman's husband's financial conditions and whether the reason why his wife paid for him was that he was financially struggling.

Admittedly though, Lady Melissa would be fed up if she read multiple articles that would criticize her just because of that, perhaps she would even say a few vulgar words to the media if it was that bad.

Lady Melissa had put the deed inside of the limited pouch, knowing that it was in safe hands, before she put the limited pouch inside somewhere safe in her room, which was safe, though it wasn't just any safe.

It was a safe that she had personally chanted a spell for, as if she had put a spell on the safe, to prevent intruders or anyone who wasn't her, not being granted permission to open the safe, and every time they did so, a punishment would be coming their way.

Lady Melissa had hidden the safe as well, with invisibility, the difference between a living human and a non-living item was that she didn't need to worry whether how long the potion would last, since the non-living item wouldn't move or so, and it didn't have a heart amongst other things.

She had just created a potion, though there were a few minor differences that she had made between the potion that she had made for the non-living item compared to for herself, and she just needed to put the potion in the whole safe.

Luckily, she had asked for a waterproof safe, though she had never expected that her request for a waterproof safe would come in handy because of this reason, though she wasn't exactly complaining.

Lady Melissa simply just needed to use the potion on the safe by making sure that every inch of it had gotten its fair share of the potion, since if it didn't then it would still be visible- understandably so.

Lady Melissa exited her room, sensing a presence as her eyes were dull, filled with boredom, there wasn't anything fun for her to do anymore, just piles and piles of paperwork that were waiting for her, on her desk.

"Are you alright Lady Melissa?"

Justin asked as Lady Melissa nodded her head slowly, as she let out a yawn, stretching her hands out as it was evident that she was disinterested by this whole thing- needing something to make her feel more….interested.

Lady Melissa glanced at Justin, as she noticed that the other bodyguards weren't there, they weren't by his side or either behind him, as she raised her eyebrows, wondering where they were.

"Oh, the others are still with the Duke and Duchess, they're currently trying to find reasons to leave the Duke and the Duchess."

Justin said as Lady Melissa mumbled under her breath 'you would've thought that by being the Duke and Duchess they wouldn't have that much time, seeing that they don't even use it to spend it with their own daughter.'

Lady Melissa said as she was perhaps a little salty, though she wasn't craving affection from her parents- neither of them, meaning that technically she hadn't broken the vow that she had made to herself the other day.

Justin had overheard it though he pretended he hadn't heard anything, based on Lady Melissa's reaction, this was confirmation that his master had a difficult and complex relationship with her parents.

Justin already had his own suspicions from a few weeks ago, based on how the Duke and Duchess would treat their daughter, but he brushed it off, after all, it wasn't his business, so why should he meddle with it?

Though technically, he wasn't meddling with her business since she had just said the words herself, no one had forced her to, and he was simply making assumptions, though he was sure that his assumption was ninety per cent correct.
