Chapter 138 - 138 - The Herb Store

Dejected, Long left the establishment and walked around. He thought that finding information was easy as pie, but the real-world situation was different from what he expected.

When he was in heaven's realm, if he need some information he would send some of his shadow guards to collect it and they would bring it by nightfall. He was not sure how they did that, though. It was really a mystery.

He sighed, the sun was rising, and he still was not home with his lover. 'Xia would have probably woken up. Ahhhh, I really want to find Yukiya soon,' he internally screamed and ran around.

But his search came to an abrupt stop when he noticed his lover walking out of a Red house. 'Eh, that's Xia, what is he doing there?' he slowly walked over and patted his shoulders.

Startled, Xia turned around with his eyes wide open. Noticing that it was Little Long, his heart rate slowed down. "Long, ah, you scared me. Next time just come in front of me instead of patting my back," He said patting is chest.

Long nodded. "What were you doing in there? You know that it's a red house, right?" He whispered gazing around. Some people were giving his lover some weird stares. Of course it was not normal for a man to walk into a red house in broad daylight so the stares were two-fold.

"Hmm, I later found out. Why do they call it a red house, anyway? I like the colour red. It's like discriminating against it," Xia said, flicking his sleeves.

"Well in the past these kinds of courtesan's houses only existed in the district of red light that's why they are called red houses. AND what were you doing there? Were you searching for your mother?" Long insistently asked.

Because he could smell the overwhelming perfume that the courtesan's wore on his lover's new clothes. He did not like it one bit but if his lover told him that nothing happened in there, he would gladly believe so.

Xia turned back and glared at him, "silly Long, I was indeed searching for you. Your disappearing act is getting consistent nowadays, ah. You should remember someone kept saying that they won't leave me alone and look what happened I woke up alone to a cold bed, my lover nowhere to be seen," He dramatically said.

Long caught up to him and held his hands loosely. "No, I would never go to a place like that. I am faithful to you and you only. I don't care about anyone else," he sword. He was scared that his cute little crayfish might have misunderstood that he left him to visit someone else in the back.

On the other hand, Xia subtly wiped his swat. 'Ah, I really shouldn't say that I went in there just to eat. Long would be furious. I was just so hungry..' he patted his now fully stomach. The food in there was quite satisfactory, and Raijin enjoyed it thoroughly as well.

He gazed at his little Long that was guiltily following him around. With a small smirk, he wound their hands together slowly without looking at him.

"Is this your way of forgiving me?" the dragon whispered in his ears.

"Hmm, there is nothing in this world that you can do to make me let you go," Xia tightly held him close. It was his true feeling. Even if this silly dragon one day left him, he would never let go of him.

Long chuckled. "of course, I would do the same. If one day you don't want to be with me, I will throw you over my shoulders and hold you with me until you give me your heart again,"

Coming to a mutual understanding, both Long and Xia walked around town. Xia had many things that he wanted to buy, so he dragged around his lover to each of these spots.

They visited a herb store to replenish their common herb reserve. And Xia also wanted to make an ointment for the cold weather. Even with his new waterproof clothes, his hands and face were still freezing. Ever since he was young, his mother had made him this ointment that wards away the cold. He was planning to make that.

"Mister, can you give us two stalks of sun and moon flower, some castor oil and ulliki fern," Xia said gazing around.

The old owner of the store walked over and picked up all of his order. Xia took it from his hand and placed it in his sleeve, but in reality he was placing it in his magic ring.

"Ah, you must be Xia Che. It is really nice to meet you after so long." The shop keeper said with a smile.

Xia was startled he never revealed his face because he was always wearing his bamboo veil hat on his head. It was impossible for anyone to see inside.

"Sir, how do you know my name?" he whispered.

"I have heard so much about you. ahh, time has gone. You have already left your nest before it was your time," the old man uttered shaking his head.

Xia followed him around the store. "Sir, what do you mean? How do you know me? Do you know my mother? Have you seen her perhaps?" he threw questions after questions.

The old shop keeper sighed. "I know your mother. She comes here and orders the same herbs you just brought. It is to make the cold ointment right. I was the one who taught her that," he proudly said. "and, you have the same lotus marking on your hand."

Xia nodded with a wide smile. "So you DO know my mother. But have you SEEN her?" he questioned slowly this time. The man was getting on his age and looked like he was not able to hear them properly.

"Yes, if I didn't see her, how could I have taught her that," the old man said with a hump.

Xia slowly let out his breath and whispered, "let me rephrase it, have you seen my mother in recent years? Has she told you anything about me? Why did she leave me?"
