The next morning, similar to how Raylene had arranged the preparations on the day the entire family had visited the Palace, once again the same routine had been followed.
This time, however, Yvonne was the only one getting pampered by her maids while the mother oversaw the entire process, instructing them whenever she saw fit.
The child had been woken up early in the morning and since the Earl had sent a message to his old friend, Captain Desmo that the morning practice was canceled, she was surrounded by maids from the moment she had gotten off her bed.
At this very moment, the little girl was receiving a relaxing head massage from her mother's personal maid while she laid in the bathtub filled with warm water and sweet-smelling fragrance oils.
'This feels like I'm in a spa…' She let out a low moan in satisfaction as the maid was doing an excellent job with the massage.
Yvonne was already used to being in the presence of maids while taking a bath and now that she was in the body of a little child, she felt no shame to be before them in this way.
She could hear muffled voices seeping in through the walls and knew who they belonged to.
It was her mother who was speaking to Roselie and Mrs. Jacinth now in her bedroom while she was in the spacious bathroom next door.
From the bits and pieces that she could pick up, it was likely that they were deciding which jewelry would look good with the dress they had picked.
Jax had completed the task he had received yesterday, informing the Countess that the young miss did not wish to wear anything pink in color for her visit to the Palace.
Yvonne had done so with a reason, based on the dreams that she had often seen in the past.
When 'Yvonne' was studying as the playmate of the Royal Princess, there was a phase where the Princess was obsessed with that color.
Like any young girl, she was fascinated with the pretty color and wore it every single day.
If Yvonne had remembered it correctly then it was around these years that her attraction towards the color pink was at its highest.
Therefore, the girl who did not wish to attract the eyes of the Princess had planned to wear any color which was not that shade.
Princess Felicia was not someone who would feel indignant if any other girl wore pink.
In fact, it was quite the contrary as she would be fascinated with the dress and hence pay more attention to that person.
Since that was the last thing Yvonne wished to happen, she suggested that she would rather not wear this color to avoid falling into the eyes of the Princess.
This morning when she had woken up, her mother and her two maids had come to her with the dress they had picked for her.
When Yvonne saw the shade of this dress, she was satisfied and agreed without hesitation which pleased the Countess.
She had then sent her child with one of her personal maids who was excellent in giving a massage which was what the child was enjoying right at this moment.
"Miss, I shall wash your hair now." The same maid revealed when she saw the little girl's droopy eyes beginning to shut due to the relaxation she experienced from the massage.
This was a sign that she had done a good job so the maid's confidence rose but at the same time, she could not let the Miss fall asleep in the tub.
Hence she had mentioned that they would be moving to the next step of their routine.
Yvonne could only nod as the maid began washing her hair and in no time, she was done with her bath and ready to leave the bathroom.
When the child entered her bedroom with her mother's maid, Roselie rushed to help her dry her long violet hair while Mrs. Jacinth arranged the clothes she would wear once the younger maid was done.
Raylene was seen seated on the little bed as she watched them care for her child.
Seconds turned to minutes and soon Yvonne's hair was as dry as it could be.
The Countess's second maid stepped forward and applied a different kind of oil onto the child's beautiful hair, turning it more luscious and glossy than it already was earlier.
'Lavender.' Yvonne guessed when the floral and sweet aroma wafted into her nose.
Once this maid was done, Mrs. Jacinth helped her with her clothes and Roselie was in charge of fixing her hair.
Yvonne's maids were just as capable as the Countess's and they moved in tacit understanding after working together for so long.
Thus it did not take much time for the child to be dressed and ready for the big day she had ahead of her.
Looking into the mirror, Yvonne's amethyst eyes scanned her reflection, who was wearing a beautifully tailored dress created from a satiny material of a subtle mint green color.
Her dark, almost black yet violet hair was a stark contrast to the mint green she was wearing today.
Her hair had grown a lot since the last haircut she had so Roselie had styled her long hair into a loose braid that was adorned with little pearls to keep them in place.
'And I thought that not wearing pink would help me maintain a low profile…' Yvonne's narcissistic tendencies were beginning to flare as she admired the image in the mirror.
She could not deny that her appearance was eye-catching as that was exactly what her mother had planned to achieve while choosing these clothes for her.
However, even if she wished to change out of these clothes, it would not be possible as the time for her to leave for the palace was already near.
"Wear this, Vonny." Raylene's gentle voice snapped the child out of her thoughts.
Turning her head a little, Yvonne found her mother holding a necklace with an emerald in the shape of a teardrop.
The moment her eyes landed on this piece of jewelry she had seen for the very first time, the image of a certain pair of eyes flashed across her mind.
Those eyes that resembled emeralds brought something else to her mind soon after.
{So you finally decided to leave your room?}
A sarcastic voice echoed in her mind and without a doubt, she had heard this voice before.
She had heard this same voice when the King had proposed marriage between 'Yvonne' and his younger brother.
The man who had accepted that 'blessing' from the King was the one to whom this voice belonged.
"Vonny?" Raylene frowned when she saw the pale face of her child.
Yvonne, whose mind was trying to figure out when she had heard that man uttering the sarcastic question from earlier, had no idea that her cheeks had grown pale.
However, after hearing her mother's worried calls, she shook her head and looked up at the emerald again.
"Does Vonny not like it?" Raylene inquired to which she received another shake of the head.
Yvonne knew that the emerald had reminded her of the man who was supposed to be her future husband if she had followed the progress of the script until now.
However, her thoughts were in fact focused on the words which had echoed in her mind but now was not the time to mull over them.
"If Mama likes it then I will wear it." She muttered to distract her mother's observant gaze away from her pale face.
She then sat upright and waited for Raylene to help her wear the necklace which she gladly did.
"Roselie," She glanced at her maid and even without waiting for the next instruction, the young maid knew what she was supposed to do.
Ever since summer had begun, their young miss did not leave the house without the glass pendant she had received as a gift from the Master of Ocular.
No matter what dress she wore, this was a necessity for her so they had long given up on trying to change her mind.
Raylene too was aware of the uses of the necklace Sevenz Oca had given to her and did not object to it.
After all, who knew how much her precious daughter might have to walk in the Palace.
Therefore, she only watched in silence as Roselie circled the long necklace around the child's tiny wrist, turning it into a pretty bracelet.
"My daughter is the prettiest.." She chirped the moment Yvonne got off her seat before the mirror and turned to face her.
