Cheng Xiu pursed her lips. The reason why she had not thought of this before was because she subconsciously thought that she already knew everything about the room. But that wasn't the case. If this was a different space from the one she was in before then it would mean that this room was also not the same as the other.
She placed her palm against the cold wall, hoping that the method of opening would at least remain the same.
Cheng Xiu sent a small thread of Qi.
The Iron wall became visible to her again, and it opened up.
There was a flash of light.
Cheng Xiu closed her eyes shut at the harshness of it, blinking them open only when the red haze disappeared behind her eyelids.
In front of her stood San Zhe and Yaksha.
Cheng Xiu smiled. "Brother San-"
San Zhe attacked her with his trident.
Cheng Xiu stepped back in time.
She frowned and looked at him and Yaksha. "What are you doing? It's me!"
San Zhe's eyes narrowed behind his dark mask, and he thrust the weapon at her midriff.
Cheng Xiu dodged.
She saw a glint of something in the corner of her eyes.
She pulled her head back.
A black sword flew past her neck, a small wound appearing. Beads of blood trickled down her slender neck to the hem of her robes.
Cheng Xiu glared at Yaksha who prepared to fight with her, his stance hostile.
Cheng Xiu scoffed. "You know, it would be believable that San Zhe would attack me the way that you did if he thought I was a fake but I am pretty sure that you had Yaksha ge wrong. He would have either killed me if he really thought I was an imposter, captured me in case that he was not sure, or stopped Brother San, if he thought I was the real one."
"Yaksha" froze.
A pair of feminine giggles echoed from the two "men" in front of her.
She felt it a bit disturbing that Yaksha was giggling and that too in a sweet female voice.
"Really creepy," Cheng Xiu muttered.
"San Zhe" sighed. His voice was more masculine, like that sound of pubescent boys. "I told you that we should not have immitated that man."
"But then I would have to stay behind!" "Yaksha" whined.
Cheng Xiu sweatdropped. She couldn't believe the really creepy way that Yaksha was behaving. It just did not go with the personality that he had shown so far.
The skins of the "men" rippled and pealed off, revealing two identical looking women. Or at least, Cheng Xiu thought they were women. She was not really able to say the genders of the creatures though. They had thin figures that looked nearly malnurished, pale skin, long black hair and wore exquisite blue robes, and headdresses. Their appearance screamed money and power.
Cheng Xiu had the weird thought that perhaps these two were the queens but then tossed the thought away.
The system would not allow her to meet with the "Final Bosses" of her quest without her meeting all other conditions. Specifically the one that said she had to defeat the 5 Counsellor Rats.
But what she could guess was that these two were also Mistresses of the Rat King, and she could see that they were twins. Which meant that her theory that the Rat King had a fetish for twin women was a confirmed theory.
She wondered if her encounter with these two was the System's way of guiding the players to another Sub-plot, giving them the access to how to defeat their enemies.
"I am Da Hua," the "Yaksha" impersonator said in a female voice, placing a delicate hand over to her ample chest in a provocative gesture.
"And I am Xiao Hua," the "San Zhe" impersonator said in a boyish voice. "I am Da Hua's big sister!"
"And I am Xiao Hua's little sister," Da Hua said to her.
Cheng Xiu wanted to find their parents and ask them what they were smoking on when they named their children. The older one had the "Xiao" meaning "Little" name in its, while the younger one had the "Da" meaning "Older" in their name. Truly creative parents. Must be given a raise of cheers for their inginuity.
"I am Selafia," Cheng Xiu said to them, not sure if she could take them both on if she attacked them now. Her guess was, she couldn't.
"I heard that black masked, blue robed man call you Xiu though," Da Hua said to her.
Cheng Xiu shrugged. "So you two have been following us since the beginning I imagine?"
"Since you exited the room with the climbing Counsellors," Xiao Hua said.
Cheng Xiu nodded. "So what now? What do I have to do? Fight with you guys?"
The two people laughed at her.
"Fight?" Xiao Hua asked in a mocking voice. "Do you think yourself so capable?"
Cheng Xiu thought for a moment before answering. "I am not sure whether I am so capable, but I do know that there is a way to defeat you two."
The two people scoffed at her words.
"Naïve," Xiao Hua mocked the human cultivator again.
"Lets get this over with, Sister," Da Hua said to the one identical to her. "The King should have passed the Yellow line by now!"
Cheng Xiu thought of Da Hua's words. She remembered the Border lines of various colours that she had seen in the white room before. She realised that the King must have advanced to the S-Rank realm which was the power-threshold after which reaching the next level, the SS-Rank, would be really difficult.
Xiao Hua rolled her eyes, and pulled out a thick leather-bound book from thin air. Da Hua did the same.
Cheng Xiu recognised the book as the same one that the twins that She and the gang had met before.. So the sub-plots are always going to be Twins who used Spell Books.
