223 Come And Show Me What You Go

"I… There is something that was left on my possession without my or our parents knowledge," she started.

No one spoke, waiting for her to say it herself.

"Patrick Price was a truly cunning person, he was smart indeed. He was after all where father got his brains."

She started tapping at the cup in front of her.

"Not just because those people thought of us as threats but there was a deeper reason why they came after us, trying to kill us over and over again," she continued.

She smiled sadly, "It is because of Patrick Price and the move he made, that we didn't get the chance to really have a peaceful time together while searching for the cure of my sickness."

No one dared to ask anything and just waited for her to keep going.

They can see just how serious this is to her and Ashton could only hold her hand that started trembling while holding the cup.

She looked at him before she smiled and took a deep breath.

Her other hand went to her thigh, "Aunt Liana and I found out about it when I went and saved Ashley from the kidnappers."

She looked at him and she can see the confusion in his eyes.

"I asked her to keep quiet about it not because I want to hide it from you but I want to live not thinking about it. No one knew of where it is after all," she said before returning her eyes to the others.

"Implanting a foreign object to a child just because of your own wants is too much isn't it?" she asked all of them.

Ashton remembered how mad she was when she heard about the daughter of Thomas Barbers, about getting a bomb on her head.

"There is one thing that had been missing all these years within the Empire, were you aware?" she finally asked her brothers.

Xander and Timothy looked at each other, with how big the Empire is, they couldn't possibly guess in one go what she was talking about.

Let's put it this way then, what is the most important thing of the Empire that had gone missing for almost twenty years now?" she asked again.

They thought back before their head snapped up looking at her in shock and worry.

This shock was in complete contrast to when she was revealing her cards, this time they finally understood everything.

Every single piece of the puzzle are finally in place.

No matter how great their father is and no matter how much potential Nathalie were to show, the Empire wouldn't be shaken for it has hundreds of years of history.

So why? Why still go after them?

Why go after them when they only wanted to live a normal life?

Because Patrick Price left them a word or two to think about.

~"If it's gone, where could it have gone? It's not like it has a pair of legs to runaway from here."~

'Runaway.'

They then remember what Patrick said after they returned the bodies, after he checked them himself.

He suddenly laughed, ~"Come then, come and show me what you got."~

No one understood what he meant, but after that was the time when they heard that he was warning their relatives.

Not to touch the two of them or someone of high rank in the empire would make them lose everything.

"You mean…" Timothy started saying.

Amber smiled, "Yes, Patrick is just that cunning. He wanted us to leave you in order for us to leave that place but in the end, a wire was still attached to us leading to the deaths of our parents."

Ashton already understood what they were talking about.

There was a rumor going around in the past, about that item missing.

Among all the royals, only the Price has such system.

The system of token inheritance.

"Are you saying that the token," he started as he held her hand that was on her lap.

She gave him a smile, "Yes, it is indeed here. The reason why I can shake them up. The reason that I could inflict fear on them."

"You see, with this I could really already take them down but I didn't want to. I never wanted to use it. I never wanted to use the power of that same devil who caused our parents their lives."

"Who caused all of us to suffer all these time. I will make sure to get back ta all of them with my own power and with my own people. That is why I am just using this to make them tremble."

She smiled bitterly, "Tremble that the power they were trying to protect so much all these time, could be taken from them in just one snap of a finger."

"No wonder Patrick never appointed his heir, it is because the token was already given. His last words were that the heir will surely be there," Timothy shook his head after listening to this revelation.

"This stupid token is the beginning of everything, I will make sure to show them how I turn this into dust without using it against them," Amber declared.

She was speaking in gritted teeth.

"You are no longer alone, we will surely join you in this fight," Timothy declared where Xander nodded in agreement.

Amber looked at them, "No."

"What do you mean no? We are also your brothers, they are also our parents. Knowing what had happened we already have the right to get back at them as well." Xander instantly retorted.

"I could have Timothy join but I will never let you join this fight, Xander."

"Huh? What the hell are you talking about? Why are you excluding me to this?" he angrily asked.

"It is because of who you currently are, think about who you are now," she retorted.

"I really don't get what you are talking about," he rub his face with his hands.

"I will never have that child lose its father the moment it is born. I will never have that child experience losing a parent at such a young age," she declared pointing at Samantha's stomach.

Xander looked at Samantha as she looked at him in fear.

When Amber pointed it out, somehow she felt fear. What if they lost Xander in this fight? What will she and the child do?

"I won't die!!" he exclaimed after seeing her look.

"I won't die, I will make sure of that," he then said to Amber.

Amber shook her head, "That was the exact same words our parents said to me a few weeks before their death. That they won't die, I won't die and that we will live as happily as we could be."

Xander slowly sat back down in his chair.

"I won't allow it, Xander. I won't allow you to risk yourself and risk the fact that that child would be an orphan. I will never have him experience what we had. You are now a father. Your priority is them and we would just be the second."

Xander grabbed his hair, his anger couldn't be contained but he had no rebuke to her.

She had seen the end of their parents, she had the most painful memory.

"Amber," Timothy finally spoke up.

"I won't Tim. I started this and you might have found out in the middle but I won't let that child get hurt no matter what," she replied filled with determination while her eyes started getting red.

"Just how painful was it when you found out everything? Was it that easy? To know that your parents were dead before you could even see them again?" she asked as a tear finally dropped from her eyes.

"Don't tell me it will be for it because it was not yet born. Losing a parent will always be losing a parent, even if he will never meet you, he will still have this whole in his heart that he never got the chance to meet his father."

"Why are you declaring that I would really die?" Xander couldn't help but ask.

"Because I didn't want to think positively when it comes to life. You may have it now but you don't know if an hour later you will still have it. Especially so, with our life."

More tears dropped.

She was scared, scared for his life, scared for their lives and scared for the child.

"The pain we felt, do you really want to let your child feel it?" she asked.

Xander just bowed his head.

They understood where she's coming from but to let them do everything while he was not ding anything, he just couldn't accept it.

"Please stay safe and be there to save us and heal our wounds when we return with them," Amber finally begged as she held his hands.
