253 Don't Be Scared To Let Them In

Timothy and Xander explained from what they can remember until they were left behind until they met with Amber and finally found out of what had happened.

James clenched his hands into a fist as he gritted his teeth in anger.

It was the Price Empire, they are the reason why his daughter have died.

"Please calm yourself," Timothy seeing this told him in a calm voice.

"How can I be calm that is my daughter out there, she died so unjustly!!" he exclaimed.

"If you act now then the painstaking preparation of Nathalie would become a waste. We would stop you as well if we have to lock you up then we would do so," Xander spoke as he looked outside the window.

The sun has already set and it has been two hours since Amber left to check on Ashton.

"I don't understand, why leave everything to your sister? She was the youngest," James couldn't help but ask.

Timothy and Xander showed a bitter smile.

"She was the youngest but she was the smartest, she was the most courageous and the one with clear-headedness. She experienced more than what we did but she never succumbed to this and stood strong."

Xander who was looking outside saw them coming before he looked back at James.

"If you ask us, our ego as her brothers are greatly bruised but we also knew that compared to her what we can do is too little that it could be ignored by the Empire. We were their puppets for a long time after all."

James stared at them without knowing what else to say. He knew he had just stepped on a landmine within them.

That's right, they were the older brothers but the revenge was being spear headed by their sister.

They were the older brothers but it was their sister who was truly protecting them.

They were the older brothers but what they can see are their weaknesses.

"I didn't mean…"

He didn't know how to continue.

He couldnt see Sarah on them but instead what he can see was his son, Justin Scott.

He was always being overshadowed by his sister yet he kept a smile on and a doting look whenever he was with Sarah.

But being a man and their father, he could see just how much pride he had left as an older brother.

James knew that these two are currently having the same dilemma as Justin back in the day.

He took a deep breath before looking back at the two of them, "No, I was wrong. It's not that you are leaving everything on your sister but knowing your own weakness was the greatest help you have given her."

Xander and Timothy looked at him.

"I saw when I was giving you some advice how much you wanted to learn. That is why I should have known that you on your own ways are trying to help her as much as possible. Letting her go was not you trying to be protected by her."

James bowed his head towards them, which greatly shocked the two of them.

"I apologize for such words. The things I have learned today are too much that my judgment was clouded. You were two great brothers for her."

He remembered that no matter how loving he was, he still had times where he compared Justin to Sarah and he knew that was what brought more changes in him.

He should have seen much clearly that Justine was having the inferiority complex a brother who has a smart sister would have.

He should have seen and should have not compared the two of them for Justin was also doing his best on his own way to become a better son and a better brother.

How much had he sacrificed by listening to what his father wants?

How many times did he agree to what his father wants when in reality he just wanted to disagree.

James didn't see this back then but seeing two young men in front of him with the same aura as Justin made him realize all these things.

But he knew it was already too late, realizing things were already too late.

Xander and Timothy were first taken aback by his words before they finally regained their composure.

A smile appeared on their lips and the heaviness in their heart whenever they thought that couldn't do anything for Amber was slowly lifted.

"Thank you," both said at the same time.

They didn't look at one another and didn't have a signal but somehow both said the same thing at the same time.

James stared at them in shock, he just spoke his mind and he actually received such thanks from his… err… grandsons.

"Maybe time would give us the chance to truly understand one another. We may have not met from the very beginning but maybe this time, the chance that was given to us would help us know and become closer with one another."

Timothy looked him straight in the eyes and said.

James eyes shook upon hearing these words.

He never thought of this, that he would one day meet three children that are actually his grandchildren.

He once again looked at the projected image and tears once again flow from his eyes.

'You have such wonderful children Jasmine. Too bad I didn't get the chance to meet the husband whom you chose and happily stayed with.'

He stared at Nathan and a strong surge of wanting welled up inside him.

He wanted to know, just who Nathan Price is outside of that business attire.

He knew there is only one person he could ask but that should wait, for now he needed to understand his grandchildren more.

"But we do apologize for suddenly dropping this bomb on this day to you. The pain… we will never know. We could only apologize," Timothy said.

James shook his head, "It is fine. At the very least I get the chance to mourn for her death on her death anniversary. It must have been hard."

"Well, I think what you are feeling is somehow similar to what we felt. We also found out after their death after all," Xander sat back down and said.

"Then I suppose, she had the most difficult time," James said pertaining to Amber.

"We have no idea just how much she had suffered for she always had the tendency to climb back up on her own," Timothy answered with a smile.

"Indeed, just like her mother. They would be down but they know how to climb back up. Yes just like your grandmother."

Xander and Timothy listened to his story until a knock came from the door.

Then came in Amber, she looked at them and she knew from their faces alone that their talks was good.

She smiled at them, "I was reprimanded."

Confusion appeared on their face.

(Flashback)

After she told Ashton what she told Gideon he stared at her seriously.

"What is it?" she asked.

Ashton sighed, indeed if he was still kind then Amber was different she became too indifferent to those whom she deemed as strangers to her.

He cupped her face holding both cheeks with his hands.

"No matter what you do, he will always be your grandfather. You don't feel anything for him now but he had done nothing wrong to you nor your mother. He was only absent during the time you grew up."

She stared at him listening intently.

"James Scott is way different from Clark Price. He didn't know he had grandchildren until you appeared. Stop being indifferent with him and give him a chance," Ashton said.

"I will be doing that, that was my plan," she answered.

Ashton shook his head, "No, you have to start now. Since you already told him who you are then treat him as your grandfather from now on. You decided for him to be the one to walk you down the aisle."

"You can't be indifferent with him but instead you have to understand him. What is the meaning of walking down the aisle? And the vows, what are they for? Was it just a ceremony? No, it is a place where two people would promise to stay with one another for as long as they live."

"Then what is the purpose of the people who would witness it? They aren't there just to be some decorations for the two of us. Instead they are there to be the proof that we had indeed lived and met one another to reach this point."

Amber's eyes shook.

"If your grandfather was not him, do you think we would still reach this point now? Each and every person no matter how big or small has impacted the path that we took in order to be here right now."

Amber bit her lower lip as she listened to him.

"That's why Thalie, start now and understand him now, especially because he will be the one who will walk you towards me. He will be the one giving your hand to me, he will be the one letting it go."

Amber looked back at him and slowly nodded her head.

Ashton smiled and kissed her forehead, "Don't be scared to let them in. For I will be here by your side as you get to know them more."
