When Yu Yingyi and Mei Xiang exited the store, there was a smaller swarm of people in the streets.
"Today sure is a busy day, but that's expected." Mei Xiang muttered.
"So, where do you want to go first?" asked Yu Yingyi.
"Hmm, since it's almost afternoon, let's find something to eat! I could never miss out on lunch," said Mei Xiang.
Yu Yingyi felt delighted at the mention of food, she was already starving by the time she made it into the city. She regretted not eating breakfast and only drinking hot chocolate.
"Alright, let's find a place to eat then. Do you know a place?" asked Yu Yingyi.
"In fact, I actually do know a place, but it's quite expensive. Do you have enough money on you? If not, I can pay for you." said Mei Xiang.
"No thanks, I have enough money. You're going to ask me for another favor if I did ask you to pay for me." Yu Yingyi replied.
"Ah, you read my mind," said Mei Xiang sounded defeated.
As Yu Yingyi trailed behind Mei Xiang, she stared at the back of her head. The girl in front of her was cunning even though the stuff she's said didn't sound cunning, however, if you listened closely, Mei Xiang always suggested things that would benefit her.
Luckily, Yu Yingyi had experienced Song Liya's cunningness so she was easily able to tell when Mei Xiang was trying to take advantage of her or not. One thing for sure was that the girl in front of her was deadly yet cute.
Yu Yingyi had to stick closely to Mei Xiang so that she wouldn't lose her. Surprisingly, Mei Xiang was a short girl, Yu Yingyi was an entire head taller than her.
"How long until we get there?" asked Yu Yingyi.
"We're almost there, we just need to pass these buildings." Mei Xiang replied.
Yu Yingyi hoped that was true, she felt like she was going to get a heat stroke from the scorching heat. She had to squint her eyes to properly see what's in front of her.
When Mei Xiang suddenly took a turn, Yu Yingyi prayed that the place they were going to eat was there. And her prayers were answered, in front of her was a restaurant called Golden Dragon.
Yu Yingyi could understand why it was called Golden Dragon, everything about it was lavished in a golden color making it stand out. It was smart since it would catch the citizen's attention, but at the same time, there was also the possibility of blinding them.
"This is quite astonishing." Yu Yingyi murmured under her breath.
Somehow, Mei Xiang was able to hear her.
"That was the same thing I thought when I saw this. Let's go in, it's too hot outside," said Mei Xiang.
When Yu Yingyi entered the restaurant, she immediately felt refreshed, a light breeze was enough to cool her entire temperature down.
"A table for two please." Mei Xiang said to a waitress.
There was a small talk between them before Mei Xiang signaled her to follow her. They sat near the corner of the restaurant where they were separated from everyone.
"Hmm? Is there something on my face?" asked Mei Xiang.
"Nope, I was just wondering why you chose a table near the back of the restaurant," said Yu Yingyi.
"Oh, I thought you preferred if you were away from them since you seemed like the type of person who seemed to sit alone instead of sitting with someone," said Mei Xiang.
"Somehow, I can't decipher if that was an insult or not," said Yu Yingyi.
"No, no, it's not an insult. I wouldn't dare say something terrible about the prince. Anyway, let's order." said Mei Xiang as she picked up the menu.
Yu Yingyi did the same, her eyes scanned the menu. Surprisingly, she found nothing that interested her, the only thing that caught her attention was the fried noodles. It was safe to say that it was the best-looking meal on the menu.
"Say, Mei Xiang, what's the best meal in this restaurant?" asked Yu Yingyi.
"It's either the dumplings or the fried rice. I'm going to get the fried rice, what about you?" asked Mei Xiang.
"I'm going to get the fried noodles since it looks delicious." Yu Yingyi replied.
"Oh, the fried noodles here are also delicious, but I wouldn't say it's the best meal in the restaurant," said Mei Xiang.
"We really do have different tastes, I'd say the fried noodles look the most appetizing, I didn't find anything else that fits my taste," said Yu Yingyi.
"That's true, is fried noodles all you're going to get? If so, I'm going to take our order now."
"Fried noodles is all I'm going to get, you can take our order now."
Yu Yingyi expected their food to come a bit later since the restaurant had a lot of people, but their food came surprisingly quickly.
Once it was placed down on their table, Yu Yingyi nearly drooled, it looked the same as it did on the menu, not many restaurants could do that.
Without wasting any time, Yu Yingyi quickly dug into the delicious flavors. One bite became two bites, two bites became three bites, and before she knew it, her entire plate was already finished.
"You ate your food fast," said Mei Xiang with a hint of disbelief in her tone.
"I only eat fast when I'm eating something delicious," said Yu Yingyi.
"I'm eating something delicious, how come I can't eat as fast as you?" Mei Xiang asked, staring down at her half-eaten food.
"Maybe it's because I'm a prince, different genders eat differently." Yu Yingyi said with a shrug.
"Nice excuse, I could probably eat faster than you if I tried."
"Calm down, I was kidding. You shouldn't eat fast, let your body digest the food you're eating."
"I should be saying that to you."
Yu Yingyi chuckled. While she was waiting for Mei Xiang to finish eating, her eyes trailed to the windows outside, There was a carriage decorated with traditional designs, ones that Yu Yingyi has never seen in the city before.
Moreover, what was a carriage doing in the city? There was nothing special going on.
When the small curtain on the carriage blew open because of the wind, two figures could be seen, two figures she didn't recognize.
"Yingyi, what're you looking so intensely at?"
"Nothing." Yu Yingyi said focusing on Mei Xiang. "Hurry and finish your food, we still have a lot more things to do."
When Yu Yingyi said that, she only wanted to find out who the two figures were in the carriage. She didn't even remember them from the novel.
'Just who were they?'
