Huang Zhi Juan drove towards the beach as fast as possible and parked her car by the side of the road before getting out of it and walking towards two people that were waiting for her.
"What the hell happened?" She asked in worry.
A young girl who could be identified as Li Ying lifted her head and looked at the woman before greeting her with a delighted tone, "Auntie!~"
Huang Zhi Juan nodded with a small smile that was gone before it could even register on her face, "What's the emergency about?"
Li Ying shrugged her shoulders as she responded in a calm manner, "It's not anything much. My brother is a bit too emotional after seeing your son faint."
Huang Zhi Juan frowned as she heard this, "Is that really it?"
Li Ying pursed her lips and said nothing more as a response.
Another man who looked to be around his mid-twenties sighed as he bowed and greeted Huang Zhi Juan before responding to her question, "Alvi isn't listening to the gamemaster."
Huang Zhi Juan looked to be a little shocked and worried as she instantly questioned with a frown apparent on her face, "How can that be?"
The man had his hands casually tucked in his pockets as he shook his head, "We'll have to check the details."
Huang Zhi Juan nodded as she looked around, "What about the others?"
Li Ying clicked her tongue in annoyance as she answered, "That Richlord is taking her sweet time getting here."
From the way Li Ying had said it, it was clear that her relationship with this so-called Richlord wasn't something you'd call good.
"Call her again. Why are we wasting our time waiting for her?" Huang Zhi Juan questioned.
The man sighed as he took out his phone from his pocket and dialed a number before putting it on loudspeaker.
The call rang a few times and just when they thought nobody was going to pick up the call, at the last moment possible, a clicking sound was heard indicating that Richlord had picked up.
"Hello~"
"Yah! Where the hell are you?" Li Ying was anything but polite as she shouted at the girl on the other side of the call.
"Is that you, YingYing?" The voice sounded soft and delighted as she questioned.
"Don't call me YingYing!" Li Ying snapped at her.
"Aiya~ Control your temper, child. I'm almost there."
"Where are you right now?" It was Huang Zhi Juan who had asked.
"Eh? Zelak? You're there as well?"
Huang Zhi Juan nodded her head before stupidly realizing that the woman on the other side of the call couldn't possibly see her, "Yeah, it's me."
"Oh~ I'm sorry, auntie~ I was in a shopping sale so I got late." The girl apologized.
Huang Zhi Juan sighed as she grabbed her head that felt like it would have a headache at any moment now, "Is that why you're late?"
"I was at the counter when they called. I couldn't possibly leave everything and come running now, could I?"
"Okay. Okay. Just get here fast."
"Yes, ma'am!"
They could hear the sound of the car increasing speed before the phone was abruptly cut off.
Huang Zhi Juan sighed as she suggested, "Let's go inside the cafe first."
The man and Li Ying nodded in unison as they agreed.
The three soon made their way to the cafe that Li Ling had once taken Zhihao to. This cafe was located by the sea and so there were hardly any consumers who came here. Hence, it came as no shock that the cafe was empty with only the workers standing there behind the counter to greet the visitors.
"Welcome back!" The woman behind the counter immediately bowed with a big smile on her face, "Madam Huang! Li Ying! And Liang Feng!"
Huang Zhi Juan smiled politely as she nodded at the greeting, "How are you?"
The woman in front shook her hands in front of her humbly, "I'm always great. How are you, Madam Hwang?"
Huang Zhi Juan sighed as she replied honestly, "Stressed and worried."
The woman frowned as she heard this response, "Is there something wrong?"
"A lot, actually but I don't think I have enough time to explain."
The woman seemed to have understood the underlying meaning behind Huang Zhi Juan's words and she immediately nodded as she asked, "Would you like to book table no. 13?"
There was no such table as no. 13 in this small cafe but when Huang Zhi Juan heard this question, she nodded her head as she responded, "In a little while."
"Okay, Ma'am!" The woman nodded in understanding as she turned and went back to making a coffee for the customers.
Li Ying was the first to make her way towards a seat and was soon followed by Huang Zhi Juan and Liang Feng.
"Auntie, I'm just asking in case but... What if Alvi is really gonna have a breakdown?" Li Ying asked cautiously.
Huang Zhi Juan couldn't help but laugh as she heard this question, "Little Ying, have you ever seen that movie in which people were suddenly transported to a gaming world and won something called a visa by playing life-threatening games? If their visa expired, they would die. Does that ring a bell?"
Li Ying thought about it for a minute before nodding her head, "I do remember something like that. When you win the games, you win a card and with a full deck, you would be able to go back to the real world. Was it that one?"
"That's the one," Huang Zhi Juan nodded as she continued, "If Alvi has a breakdown, that would be our future, however, there will be no visa given and no cards won. You won't be going back to your original world cause the game would become the real world. She's capable of killing us all."
"Oh..." Li Ying gulped in worry as she wondered how alike her brother was to an evil scientist who planned on bringing the world to ruins.
Huang Zhi Juan chuckled as she saw the girl's frightened expression, "Don't worry about it too much. Haven't we been here since the beginning? We know Alvi better than anyone else. Do you think we'll let something like that happen?"
Li Ying shook her head in response before asking, "Are you sure that we can stop it?"
"Your brother believes in our small team, why don't you have some faith in your capabilities as well?"
Li Ying pouted as she heard this, "Auntie, you're too optimistic!"
"Sometimes being optimistic is good."
"But expecting the worst keeps you prepared," Liang Feng commented, sharply interrupting the conversation between the two.
Huang Zhi Juan was silent as she heard this. She really had no reply to that.
Li Ying's eyes twitched as she glared at the man, "Brother Feng, why do you have to say that? Stop being so pessimistic!"
Liang Feng pursed his lips as he looked at the girl with an expression that looked as if he didn't know if he should laugh or cry, "Little Ying, you don't want Madam Hwang to be optimistic and you don't want me to be pessimistic. What do you want to hear?"
Li Ying shrugged her shoulders as she responded, "I don't know. I just like facts more than guessing the future."
"Then why the hell did you ask that question in the first place?!" Liang Feng questioned with a frown.
Li Ying stuck out her tongue as she mocked the man, "I was just trying to make small talk while we wait for the witch."
Liang Feng was about to say something more but right at this moment, they heard the sound of the cafe door opening with a ring from the bell on top of the door.
"Auntie Hwang~ YingYing~ Gege~ You're all here~" It was the voice of the girl whom they had called just a few minutes ago.
Li Ying rolled her eyes as she turned to see the woman who had come, "And now you're here too."
The woman smiled thinly as she walked up to them, her heels clicking against the wooden floor in a rather rhythmic manner, "Auntie Hwang, I'm so sorry that I was late~"
Huang Zhi Juan stood up and greeted the woman with a hug as she responded, "No need to be sorry. At least you made it as fast as you could."
The woman nodded her head as she pouted, her lips that had been painted with a cherry-colored lipstick puckering out in a way that made it seem as if she was asking for sympathy, "It's Gege's fault!~ Who the hell calls someone out of nowhere like that and asks them to come immediately?!"
She pushed all the blame onto Li Ling's head with no hesitation.
Li Ying's pupils seemed to contract as she stood up and snapped at the woman, "Don't go around calling my brother Gege! Someone might mistake you."
The woman giggled happily as she heard this, "What are you talking about, YingYing? I call everyone Gege."
Li Ying looked to be unamused as she heard this but she said nothing more.
