Chapter 77 - Ride On Your Coattail

"Miss Zhou, should I assume that you don't want this settlement?" Shocked at the price she gave, Attorney Fu awkwardly asked. Their side wanted to fix this problem, that's a given.

However, five billion was too much. Although the Sun Corporation could have that much money, it would still a huge loss for the company if they would give it away just like that. After all, this was still a gamble.

The contract with the Xi Corporation wasn't final. They were just doing precautionary measures so that if Matthew Xi shook hands with Richard Sun, they wouldn't have any problem.

The reason Richard Sun was reluctant with this meeting. Still, as a businessman, they have to consider what to and not to expect.

"Why? It's little if you ask me. We're talking about someone's peace of mind, after all." Arching her brows, Zoey scanned the face of the enrage Richard Sun and his speechless lawyer.

"Miss Zhou..." On the side, Attorney Chan called her under his breath. They want this settlement, don't they? He was afraid that if Zoey kept this longer, they would change their minds and push the lawsuit against her. That's the last thing they wanted.

Even if they consider winning the case and Zoey wanted to counter-sue, the Sun Corporation would surely bring down the Z Image Group to bits. Just what was she thinking? Five billion? Does she expect they would agree with a smile on their faces?

"Darling, didn't you say you'd give me the moon and stars if I want to? Don't tell me you're lying just to get laid?" Slowly, Zoey's gaze settled on Richard Sun, recalling his lovely words back in the day.

"Zoey Zhou!" Through his gritted teeth, Richard Sun's anger level slowly approached its peak. Her sweet endearment, his words coming out from her lips... they didn't sound lovely. Rather, they sounded as if she was mocking him through his bones.

"Haha... hahahaha!" Zoey laughed, satisfied seeing him about to snap. Her soft chuckles then grew louder, as if a demoness laughing at the foolish deeds of good samaritans.

"Zoey Zhou, I'll ask you one last time, do want to fix this or not? I can give you hell if that's what you want." Having had enough, Richard Sun tightened his hand into a fist, glaring daggers at the beautiful mess across from him.

"Director Sun, please calm down. Let's talk this down calmly." Sensing that Richard Sun was no longer irritated because he was already dead serious, Attorney Fu attempted to talk him down. Not just his lawyer but also Attorney Chan was stressed at his client.

"Why are you so mad? I should be the one that's angry because you wanted my arrest for no reason. You know I hated hospitals, didn't you?" Unfazed at the threat thrown at her, Zoey pouted as she blinked her eyes. "Right, you don't. I always thought you don't deserve to know, anyway." After a second, Zoey added as a ridiculing chuckle followed.

"You...! Attorney Fu, this will go nowhere. Let's go!" Richard Sun knew that if stayed for a second longer, he might snap and strangle Zoey to death.

She's always like this; a crazy, manipulative, and an opportunist woman. What was she saying he didn't deserve? Was she dreaming? Should it be the other way around? That Zoey never deserved him? The heir of the Sun Corporation?

"So you didn't want the multi-billion deal?" Acting nonchalant, Zoey stared at her fingernails as she mentioned the current deal that the Sun Corporation was treasuring at the moment. Since the other company wasn't revealed yet because it wasn't official, Zoey could still list down those huge companies.

"Can you stop stalking me?"

"Stalking you?" Utterly speechless at his confidence, Zoey placed her palm on her chest as she stared at Richard Sun from head to toe. The nerve! "I don't need that. You and your people spread the word — you might as well broadcast it in national television if you really wanted to brag." In a matter-of-fact tone, Zoey suggested.

Everyone knew what's up in the Sun Corporation. Zoey had already contacted a few of her connections, but none of them knew what company the Sun Corporation was dealing. Regardless, Zoey wanted something in return for all the troubles she went through for the last twenty-four hours. Rather, from the first time she met Richard Sun.

"Attorney Fu, since your client seems mentally and emotionally unstable, shall we proceed on the terms for this settlement?" Retracting her gaze from Richard Sun, Zoey turned to his lawyer as she smiled.

She didn't even let him answer as she began stating her conditions. "I do want easy money, but I thought I still owe Mr. Sun one. So, treat the five billions as a joke."

Upon hearing her first remarks, Attorney Fu heaved a sigh of relief. It was as if a thorn in his throat was pluck out. "Thank you, Miss Zhou." Attorney Fu said, casting Richard Sun a glance.

"First, I want him to drop all present charges against me — no matter how little they were, please do something about it. You can do that, right?" Raising her brows, Zoey stared at Attorney Fu as she stated her first request.

It was not a big deal. It was rather easy than they thought. Hence, Attorney Fu had no qualms about it. "Yes," he answered.

"Second, even if I and him meet somewhere, intentional or not, pretend that we didn't know each other. If he could, I would do the same." Without glancing at Richard Sun, Zoey never left her gaze on Attorney Fu.

This clause, even if the poor lawyer accepted that, it was all up to Richard Sun if he would abide or not. It was a personal decision and both lawyers and Zoey could do nothing about it.

Zoey watched Attorney Fu cast her a hesitant gaze before shifting it to Richard Sun. "If he ever approaches me with a harmful intent or anything of the sort, I'll press charges without a chance of settlement. I heard huge companies cut people off even if they were in the middle of a business deal." The lawyer's reluctance didn't please her even a bit. Hence, Zoey spouted the consequences if Richard bugged bug her after the contract was signed.

"Lastly, let me ride on your coattails." Slowly, the corner of her lips stretched into a smile.. Upon hearing her last request, the room fell into a dreading silence.
