Chapter 476 - Energy Drink

Angelo kept on glancing at Zoey who was sitting on the front passenger. She had been oddly silent from the time they had left office. For some reason, he was bothered as her last remarks earlier kept repeating inside his mind.

"Are you okay?" When Angelo couldn't take the silence anymore, he asked with his eyes on the road.

Zoey who was staring at the road ahead, light flashing on her face blinked ever so slowly. "No." Her tone blank, her fingers cracking as she stretched them. "Not at all." She repeated, clarifying her thoughts at the moment.

The thought of Inigo time-traveling just like her concerned her to a different degree. She didn't know how and if it was possible, but Zoey wasn't stupid not to put the pieces together. After all, who in their right mind would dispose of people with the reason they would betray them in this particular year?

Of course, her case was different as she had experienced it first hand. She knew the businesses who wouldn't benefit Z Image Group so she avoided them and not wasted time with them. She immediately targeted the big fishes in the pond; for example, the Feng Estate and next would be the Zoid Solution Inc where she would meet Ernest Meng.

If Zoey's action were like that, then, if Inigo time-traveled too, his action just made sense… at least, to her. If that's the case, then Zoey's plans and everything were spoiled. She didn't get the upper hand, but raced at the same pace as him.

"I don't understand why you are suddenly acting strangely, but is it something we should be concerned about?" Angelo asked, stopping at the red light before he slowly turned his head towards her.

"It is." Without looking back at him, Zoey nodded her head. "I think everything will become harder than before." She added, her tongue licking the side of her teeth as a heavy exhale escaped her mouth.

"Just drive and shut up. I need to think." As she glanced up, watching the red light turn yellow then green, Zoey ordered.

Angelo stared at her briefly before nodding his head. "It's never that easy… your words." As he started to drive the car again, he repeated her words that she had told him before.

It was a reminder to him that having Inigo's head wasn't that easy. If it was, NIkolai would have done it way before, but the man was cunning and smart. Inigo was always a step ahead of his enemies. His only problem was flexible resources to execute all his plans. Thus, Inigo must strengthen his forces if he wants to bring down the Silva Family -- and a hefty sum of money.

"Damn right…" Zoey whispered along her deep sigh. What a headache.

Somewhere outside the city...

A few cars pulled over to an abandoned warehouse outside the city. The place was desolate; no surrounding establishment but only surrounded with at least a meter of grasses.

"Young Master," As the door of one of the cars opened, Carter bowed his head and greeted Matthew.

Matthew only glanced at him before he walked towards the establishment. "Fill me in." He said as he trudged closer to the entrance of the warehouse. Behind him were Carter and Paul.

"We still didn't get any information as the man is tight-lipped." Unfortunately, Carter had to deliver the slightly bad news as they didn't extract information from the man. "But he will be." He added, reassuring Matthew that the person would start talking if Matthew could give them order to do what needed to be done.

After that, Matthew didn't speak any longer. His eyes however glinted with malice as his steps didn't falter.

Meanwhile, inside the abandoned warehouse, Ryan was staring at the man across him. They set up an old wooden table in the middle of this abandoned warehouse, a few faint light bulbs gave light for everyone to see the thick dust around and old rusting machines.

"You don't have to go through the pain if you started speaking now." In a matter-of-fact tone, Ryan uttered solemnly. His gaze never left the man's mocking eyes.

"Huh…" The man scoffed in ridicule. He shook his head sideways, resting his arms on the edge of the table. "Even if you kill me, you wouldn't get anything from me." He said, smirking at Ryan as if he wasn't afraid to lose his life just to protect what he knew.

Upon hearing that, Ryan remained silent and just stared at the man with his sharp eyes. "Huh…" He scoffed, leaning back as he knew talking to this guy was pointless.

"Hey, you should really start speaking now." Just then, Ivan leaned on the other side of the table, knocking on its surface as he lazily warned the man. "Always choose the easy route, man." He added, peering at him in disdain.

The man glanced up, studying Ivan's laid back demeanor. "You're not one of them." Yet, instead of focusing on the matter, the man uttered. He remembered that it was Ivan who shot him earlier and managed to graze his leg.

Ivan was also the one who caught him. The man knew if it wasn't for Ivan, he would have executed his orders smoothly. However, things had happened, and he was now in this situation. Whether or not he would talk, his fate would be the same once he returned bearing bad news to his boss.

"Well, more or less." Still acting relaxed at the situation, Ivan shrugged his shoulders as he wouldn't say he was Matthew's underdog. He wouldn't degrade himself to the level of Matthew's minions because in his eyes, they were all incompetent… or rather, lacked more experience.

"But I'm telling you, man. You're going to need this if you don't want to speak now." Ivan sighed, reaching for the energy drink he had bought earlier on their way in here.

As Ivan placed the energy drink in front of him, the man and Ryan as well knitted their brows. "You will need energy for your concert.." Ivan grinned, sending chills down Ryan's spine as he saw how the side of Ivan's lips curled into a twisted grin.
