Chapter 595 - Sixth Commandment VIII

Once again, the not so unprecedented happened. Sarah and Zach, after two weeks of no contact shared the night together. There was actually nothing wrong with it. Sarah was his legal wife and sleeping with her was blessed by marriage.

But, how about Beth?

"Zach," Sarah called out softly.

Her head was resting on his bare chest, raising her head a little to look at his side profile. She saw him arch his right brow a little before he slowly moved his gaze back to her.

"Hmm?"

"Nothing." Sarah slightly shook her head a little as the corner of her lips stretched into a subtle smile.

Indeed, it was nothing and unnecessary to ask about Beth. Sarah didn't want to ruin the peaceful moment they had by mentioning a person's name that wasn't there.

Hence, the room fell into a deep silence as neither of them talked. But soon enough, Zachery was the first to break the silence after deep contemplation.

"Beth,"

"Hmm?"

"About the divorce…" He paused, shifting his body a little to face her.

Sarah's heart skipped a beat upon hearing the word 'divorce'. Part of her didn't want to hear the rest of his sentence, but there was also a part of her that was curious of what he wanted to say.

Why would he suddenly open up about their divorce now? Did he want to hasten its process? Or did he change his mind about divorcing her? What was going on in his mind right now?

These were just some of the questions that filled her head. Thus, she remained silent while staring at him intently. Still, she could hear her heart pound as if it was placed in front of her ear.

"I… I've been thinking about it since that night and I've been having second thoughts about it." Without a second hesitation, Zachery spoke his thoughts while staring at her straight in the eye.

Sarah's heart skipped a beat once again. She blinked her eyes, his words repeating inside her head as she absorbed every word he uttered just now.

"W -- what?"

"I don't know. To be honest, I don't know my feelings for you. I love Beth, but if I really loved her, I wouldn't be here with you, right?"

Sarah listened to him and nodded; she didn't speak and waited for him to tell his thoughts about this bizarre set up. Even if she was hearing his mistress's name and saying stuff like that as if she was the legal wife, Sarah was hopeful.

"Uhm…" There was a long pause as Zachery wanted to word his next words properly. He knew that he was walking on a thin ice and what he was about to say would be a huge gamble.

"Zach?"

"Ah, its…"

"Beth?" Sarah raised both her brows as she knew that the thought of Beth and the child in her womb was what was stopping him from expressing himself.

"I want to figure out my feelings, my real feelings for you, Sarah." With enough courage and neglecting his responsibilities he left outside this room when he went inside with Sarah, Zachery finally expressed.

"I know it's not lust, neither it is pity. You don't deserve all that -- I know." He paused once again, cupping her cheek as his eyes softened. "I have a lot of uncertainties. It's selfish of me to say this, but can you give me another chance?"

The corner of his lips tilted into a subtle smile. Sarah's heart melted by his words and expression; she could feel the sincerity and confusion from his eyes that was compelling her not to let him go.

"Can you give us, this marriage, another chance?"

"How about Her?" Sarah asked, holding herself back to say an outright 'yes, of course'. "Zach, she's pregnant with your child."

Although Sarah had already lost a little of her level-headedness due to her love for him, she was purely worried about his child. After all, Sarah was not 'evil'. (at least, during this time of her life.)

"I know, but…" Frustrated at that fact, Zachery sighed heavily. Of course, he wouldn't forget about his child; that baby was his.

Yet, he really wanted to try and work this marriage with Sarah. Although a little late for him, he still wanted to try it. He could think of the solution about Beth and their child when Zach finally got his answer.

Moreover, reconciling with Sarah, also meant regaining the life he was used to. It would be more bearable for him and live in peace. Surely, the stress of living without anyone backing him added a heavy burden for him.

Seeing him utterly frustrated, Sarah sighed. "Sure."

"Huh?"

"Let's try it once again. Forget about anything and I'll be yours, Zach." With an understanding heart, Sarah agreed as she didn't probe about other matters.

"Sleeping with you not just once is beyond my morals and principle in life. However, I did it again. I wouldn't lie about not liking the thought of me being the other woman, but it's not important for me right now." Sarah expressed her heart, showing him transparency about her thoughts regarding this set up.

However, that didn't stop her from loving him and showing that love to him. She was madly and deeply in love with Zachery and Sarah was addicted to it. If he said he wanted her, she would give herself without a second hesitation.

Forget about Beth. Forget about the divorce. Forget about the unborn child. See, Sarah wasn't as kind as he thought. She was also selfish to the things that were hers, legally.

"Let's not think about it that much. As long as you're here and spare me some of your free time, I don't mind being your mistress."

Before Sarah could get a good grasp of her foolish words, they already left her lips. Zach, as if apologetic yet satisfied with the outcome of his gamble, nodded as he pulled her closer.

Under the blanket, they shared their warmth and rested peacefully.

Meanwhile, Beth cried herself to sleep thinking what went wrong without even considering everything was wrong to begin with.
