"Coveted?" Beth chuckled in mockery. "I didn't steal anything. Zach didn't love you. You got married, yes. But that's not love, Sarah. He was trapped in a marriage his parents had arranged."
"Unlike you, I didn't seduce him. He came to me, proposed marriage, and wanted our child."
Beth added in a matter of fact tone. Sarah knew that Beth was just provoking her as she had lost everything.
"If your claim is correct, then, why is he with me and not with you?" Sarah raised her right brow, the side of her lips tilted into a smirk.
"Hah!" Upon hearing Sarah's taunting remarks, Beth was rendered speechless. All she could do was scoff and scrutinized Sarah from head to toe in disdain.
"Miss Zhou, it's not wrong to fight for my family."
"I'm pregnant and you're taking his father away." Through Beth's gritted teeth, she roared.
"Huh…" Slowly, Sarah got up from her seat and laid her glinting eyes at Beth. "Shouldn't I be the one that's supposed to say that?"
"..."
"Beth, this is my first and last warning. Don't you ever come in here again or approach my husband. We're already in peace. Whatever your son needs, my husband and I will give him the support he needs. However, don't you ever use him to ruin my family ever again. You don't know what I'm capable of."
Sarah threatened in one go. Her gaze didn't leave Beth's as she was utterly serious with it. If Sarah had let things go before, she wouldn't anymore. The baby inside Sarah's tummy was growing and it was only a matter of time before it would arrive.
"That's all?" Unappeased by Sarah's proposal, Beth chuckled in dismay. "You let another man violate me, and that's all you can say?"
"Violate? He was your lover whom you left because you had an affair with my husband. I'm just putting the pieces where they should be in the first place." Sarah tilted her head to the side, furrowing her brows as she didn't feel the need to say sorry to anyone.
If before Sarah was concerned about Beth, she learned to think about herself first. After all, no one would think about her if not herself. No one would help her get what she wanted by being kind and understanding.
People would only take advantage of her if Sarah wouldn't take precautionary measures. Hence, Sarah knew it was justifiable. She was only fighting for what's rightfully hers.
"I see…" Taking a step back, Beth nodded slowly. "You also don't know what I'm capable of. If you're going to ruin my life, I won't fall without a fight as well."
With that being said, Beth turned around and walked away. She had lost many things; but the most painful of all was losing Zach's trust because of something that wasn't true.
Beth would accept it if Zach left her because he loved Sarah. She would accept it if he told her he realized that his relationship with Beth was a mistake. However, Beth knew that Zach left her because he thought that Beth was fooling around behind him.
With that being said, Beth stomped her feet away. Sarah smirked as she watched her leave. There was not the slightest remorse Sarah felt. If anything, she was relieved. Finally, she had the chance to confront Beth.
For everything that happened, Sarah didn't have the courage to face her. But now, she just did. How satisfying it was for her.
"Fall without a fight, huh! As if." Sarah whispered before returning to her seat and continued to enjoy her tea.
"Jean? My tea's gone cold. Can you make me another one, please?" Sarah turned to Jean who was standing nearby and watched everything unfold before her.
"Yes, Madam."
"Also, disinfect the house. Make sure to clean that woman's trail." As Jean picked up the teapot and cup, she heard Sarah's following order.
"Of course, Madam." After taking a glimpse of Sarah, Jean bowed her head slightly before resuming to execute her orders.
That day, Sarah was in a good mood throughout the day. She spent her day humming, and even treated Zach extra kindly when he arrived home. Little did she know, the worst was yet to come.

One month before Sarah was due…
"This is all your fault!" Sarah's heart pounded against her chest, breathing heavily as she stared at Beth's bloodshot eyes.
"Are you out of your mind?!" Sarah screamed at the top of her lungs, struggling to break away from the rope tying her to the concrete unfurnished pillar.
Her tummy was already out, protruding on her dress. Yet, the rope was around her, restraining her from moving.
"It's your fault… This is all your fault." Beth chuckled, pacing back and forth in front of Sarah. "I've lost everything because of you. And that man won't let me go; he made me his hostage!"
Sarah scrutinized Beth's figure and her demeanor. Unlike before, Beth was acting strangely. It was as if she totally snapped and was now flinging the knife in her hand.
"Beth, don't do this. Please… we can talk this out. Please don't harm my children." Sarah pleaded, her voice shaking as her complexion grew paler.
Sarah didn't know how she got to this abandoned place. The last thing she remembered was that she was on her way to the parking space after her appointment with her doctor. However, before she reached her destination, she was knocked unconscious.
Now, she's here; tied up with Beth bearing malicious intent.
"Hah!" Beth chuckled upon hearing Sarah's last remarks. It was as if she heard the most ridiculous joke ever.
"Not harm your child?" Slowly, Beth squatted down in front of her. "Then, why did you put me in this situation? Why did you kill my child?!"
Beth grabbed her hair, tugging it back as her grip tightened. One would sense that she was ready to do the worse.
"I lost Zach… my life… and now, my angel…" Beth choked as the corner of her eyes welled up as it glinted.
"My son died because of you. You should've left me alone, but you didn't. I won't forgive you!"
"No, Beth. Please, it's not me, I swear! It's Zach! I didn't --" Upon seeing the resolve in Beth's eyes, Sarah tried to explain herself but to no avail.
Beth was unwavering before she clenched her teeth and struck Sarah's protruding tummy. As soon as blood flowed from the stab to Beth's hand, Beth let her trembling hand go.
She did it. Yet, Beth's entire being shuddered as her mind went blank.. After a beat, Beth heard a siren from outside the place before she fled and left Sarah alone.
