"And you're in love with him? Already?" Zion didn't hesitate to ask as he was intrigued how this girl began to like someone just minutes after they met.
"What?" Katherine's face immediately distorted in dismay. "Excuse me? I may be interested in him and think he looks cool just like our sister. BUT! I'm not in love!"
Katherine explained. She didn't know how Zion came up with that conclusion but it was terrible. Zion narrowed his eyes, studying her expression. Not long after, he heaved a sigh of relief.
"Good. He has a girlfriend." He muttered.
Katherine arched her brow, crossing her hand as she narrowed her eyes.
"So, what?" She asked. "Even if he has a girlfriend, they're not married."
She said as she shrugged her shoulders. Although Katherine thought she had a point, she didn't actually like the idea.
Still, she was intrigued that Zion was acting exaggeratedly. In her eyes, Zion doesn't seem like he was the type of person who would meddle in someone's personal affair.
"Even so -- wait, so, do you plan on…"
"Plan on what? Seducing him? What is it to you if I do it or not?" In a matter-of-fact tone, Katherine taunted. She raised her chin, arching her brows higher.
"You-- " Zion gasped, but Katherine's visage remained unfazed. He let out a scoff, pondering on what to tell her.
"Oh…" Just then, Katherine recalled parts of Ivan's words during breakfast.
[No wonder my girlfriend likes me more.] Was what Ivan had said.
Katherine was a bit confused earlier. That's why she didn't understand Zoey's reaction as the conversation escalated too quickly.
But now she thinks about it, Katherine grasped the drama between Zion and Ivan. Although she may not be accurate, she had the idea. Not to mention, Zion's reaction to her just made her conclusion stronger.
"You're meddling not because you're worried about that foreigner, right? It's her girl?" Katherine dawdled as the side of her lips curled into a smirk.
Instead of giving her the answer, Zion raised his finger and pointed at her.
"You, whatever you're planning, forget about it. I'm not a fan of meddling into other people's affairs. But, I won't let you ruin them." He warned firmly.
"Sure, you can sabotage me however you please. But, don't you think this is actually a good chance to see if he is loyal?" Katherine nodded slowly, then gave him a look. Zion furrowed his brows, confused.
"I mean, I didn't actually plan on seducing him. I'm not that low class -- my pride won't let me seduce someone who has a girlfriend, alright?" In a matter-of-fact tone, Katherine explained while rolling her eyes.
"But, I do like him. I mean, I'm attracted to his character and he's actually my type. I'm pretty too, right? If I'm going to stay here for a little while, our encounter is inevitable."
"What are you saying?" Zion furrowed his brows again, staring at her suspiciously.
"I'm saying, with this face and this body, there's no way I need to seduce him. I'll be hinting him and see if he takes the bait." Katherine rolled her eyes again and let out a distressed breath.
"Gosh. If he took the bait, then you have the reason to fight for the girl you like and I get to see that he's not worth my attraction."
She added. Yet, instead of understanding her reasons, Zion got more confused.
"You'll seduce him and leave him?"
"Hey, are you even listening? I said, I don't need to seduce him directly, okay? But, whatever. What I'm saying is, I may be interested in him, but I don't like guys who cheat." Katherine explained in distress.
Talking to Zion almost made her rip her scalp apart. But, she only massaged her temples. She liked Ivan, but that didn't mean she was desperate to the point that she would seduce him. It was his character that she liked.
However, Katherine was always confident in her looks and body. If Ivan found her seductive and gave in, then, it only means Ivan doesn't deserve her affection. Because if Ivan chose Katherine over her girlfriend, it would only be a matter of time when he chose another girl over Katherine.
A cycle Katherine didn't want to be in.
"So, if he fell for you, that only means he doesn't deserve Cora too." Zion muttered under his breath.
"Exactly!" Katherine nodded, ignoring the fact that Zion only cared about Cora. "But if he didn't then, you'll have peace of mind that she is with the right man, right?"
Zion went silent, thinking about this thoroughly. Obviously, Zion wanted Cora's happiness over his. That's why he didn't try to fight for her.
However, this was a good chance to reassure himself that he wasn't making the wrong decision. Katherine's plans weren't harmless as well. They could see Ivan's intention and protect Cora from a far greater heartache.
"What do you say?" Zion snapped back to reality upon Katherine's words.
Slowly, he raised his gaze. She was offering her hand for a handshake while casting him a knowing look. He knitted his brows, darting his eyes from her hand to her face.
"Will you help me?"
"Help you?"
"Pretending you don't know a thing, is also a help. If you think I'm making sense, you won't try and meddle with us. Also, you'll help me figure out what he likes and wants. Like my intel." Katherine once again rolled her eyes.
"I won't meddle into your plans, but I won't do anything for you." Zion blankly argued.
"Hey, I'm doing this for you!"
"You're doing this for yourself. I may get a benefit from it, but I can live by without knowing anything. As for you, you need to know if you're investing your abrupt feelings into the right person or not. Figure it out yourself." Zion argued blankly.
With that being said, Zion placed his palms on the edge of the table and pushed himself up.
"I wish you luck." Zion said before leaving her alone in the dining area.
As he left, Katherine scoffed and clicked her tongue. "He always acts perfect and kind.. But he is actually cunning -- the worst type of all."
