"Since all of my kids have married it's about time I give up all of my power to one of them, it's useless at my age anyway," Geb smiled.
Isis bit into her steak again.
"And this time I believe I'm going to make the best decision for the next king,"
All of a sudden the air around her tightened as the suspense rose.
"I hand my throne to my son," Geb started, "Osiris."
Isis stopped chewing and her fork fell out of her hand.
"What?" Seth muttered he turned to Geb, there was no way he heard correctly. Osiris? He had been born into the universe first solely for the purpose of leading the world after and now to have his role snatched by his younger brother. This wasn't happening.
Isis looked up from her food and stared at her father in disbelief. Osiris? Her husband? I mean there was no way she was doubting her brother's power but this just wasn't right. Seth was born first, his role in the universe was written in stone as soon as he was born but now Osiris was in lead? Isis turned to Seth, he wasn't going to take this lightly.
Seth tightened his fist and he could feel his emotions rising to his face. Calm down, maybe this was all a mistake.
"You heard me right," Geb grinned, he knew it was wrong and was Seth next but his favorite child was Isis and her husband was Osiris it only felt right if Osiris was on the throne. With Isis next to him, he was bound to lead the kingdom correctly.
"Why?" Osiris asked.
"Because you are full blood and Seth isn't," Geb lied.
Full blood? What does that matter? Seth thought, Where was that coming from? if he was really concerned about having half-bloods he would have thought before deciding to sleep with a human. Now that would be a reason that disqualifies from me taking the throne. He hated to say this but it was complete B.S.
