Zeng scooted closer so that their bare knees were touching. An amusing smile formed on Yul's face as he took Zeng's hands in his own. "Are you in a romantic mood, Mr-... sorry, Dr Xiao?"
Zeng giggled, cringing, "You do understand me, don't you?" He laughed. Zeng cleared his throat to a teasing tone, "Hm, Mr- … sorry, Officer Wang, you say that my eyes speak, right?" Yul nodded.
"So look into my eyes and tell me what they are saying right now," Zeng demanded.
Quirked, Yul leaned closer, trying to study the vocal pair of eyes. Those beautiful hazel orbs were saying the things that would render him heartbroken if gotten wrong. However, if he was right, it would be too much for his heart to take. Either way, he was bound to hear an astonishing truth. He decided to answer him the same way he had done before. True or not, he would know it soon.
"They are saying that I am immensely in love with this man in front of me," he said with teasing eyes trying to ignore the way his heart was hammering in his chest. Why was he even being this way? Sure, Zeng would just laugh it off and take it as a joke. However, this time was different.
Zeng smiled, "Yes. Right answer."
"What?" Yul's voice cracked as his body suddenly felt numb. Zeng removed his hands from Yul's loose grip and took the larger hands in his own. He grazed his thumb over the calloused, rough skin of Yul's hands, reassuring him.
"Yes," Zeng repeated, "I am immensely in love with this guy in front of me." He couldn't help but smile at the stunned boy sitting before him.
"I am sorry, it's not that romantic or anythi-" Zeng stopped midway to cup Yul's face, "Are you crying?" He asked, seeing the gleaming eyes as a sniffle escaped Yul's trembling lips, he hid his face behind his palms as more sobs followed.
Panicking, Zeng got a box of tissues and frantically began dabbing them on Yul's face after managing to take it in his hands, "I am so sorry! Oh my gosh! It was so sudden. I shouldn't have-... I am sorry, I didn't even consider if you-"
"I am so happy," Yul said, sniffling. Zeng was silent as he held Yul's face in his palms like he was a delicate piece of art. "I am so happy, Zeng ge. Thank you. Thank you so much. I love you," Yul confessed. Zeng rubbed his arms, delicately, his heart breaking down seeing the tears.
Yul hiccuped, "Sorry, I am a mess right now. You must be thinking how pathetic I am to cry. But trust me, I never cry. This is only the second time I cried since kindergarten."
Zeng combed back the hair from Yul's face and gently wiped away the residual of tears and sweat. "When was the first time? When you cried, I mean."
Yul sniffled, "When my team lost the state-level basketball finals. I had the final toss and I missed." Only he knew how guilty he felt for the missed opportunity. The devastated faces of his teammates and coach had haunted him for a long time. He never said a word about it because he truly felt it was his fault despite people telling him to let go.
"Oh, and let me guess, you cried like a baby after that," Zeng threw the final tissue paper away after wiping the crying man's face. By now, he had understood Yul to the point he knew the boy would have definitely done it. Zeng had seen Yul as a guy with a cold exterior but who is soft at heart and who did care about the people he felt close to. He never found Yul to be the emotional type but he did have strong feelings that could make him cry when his emotions overflowed.
Yul nodded in confirmation, "Yeah, I cried for two days straight." Zeng snorted. He really had the habit of laughing to every little stimulus in these serious situations. Moreover, it wasn't a big help when Yul was that adorable. The boy glared at the doctor but Zeng tapped away the grumpiness from his cheeks.
"Go wash your face. How am I supposed to kiss you with all the snot and tears?" He said, poking Yul's cheek.
Yul's ears perked up and within an instant he was in the bathroom, vigorously rubbing his face and the next moment sitting in front of Zeng again like an excited puppy. Zeng couldn't help but laugh. One second Yul was glaring at him and the next second smiling like a fool in love. Yul really was adorable.
"You have no idea how long I have wanted to do this," Yul confessed. He felt all giddy and pinched himself to make sure that this was not a dream, "It's really not a dream." He smiled even more, thanking every power in the heavens above to have made this his reality.
Zeng hooked his fingers at the back of Yul's neck, tugging his forward, "Wang Yul, you are unbelievable."
Yul smirked and leaned closer, "Stop nagging and kiss me already. Please."
And Zeng did.
Pulling him closer, tilting his head, placing his lips on Yul's as he closed his eyes, they shared their first-ever kiss. It was light and soft and everything in it managed to send shivers down Yul's spine.
Throughout, he still found it unbelievable but with the reassurance the feel of Zeng's soft lips brought him, he melted right on the spot.
After a few soft kisses, he quickly gained dominance. He pulled Zeng closer so that he had both his hands wrapped around Yul's neck. Lips were parted and the kiss soon turned all too sensual. Zeng couldn't bite back his moans and that made Yul even more excited.
After a long while, they had to part away for the necessary intake of breath. Both huffing and a bit red in the face. Zeng smiled and connected their foreheads. "That was nice." Yul was too dazed to respond. He just kept staring at Zeng as if he were in a dream.
"Zeng ge, I love you," Yul said once again. "I love you so much."
"I love you, too, Yul." Zeng pecked him on the lips.. He kissed him all over the face; cheeks, nose, eyes, forehead and back to his lips with a peck again and once more and one more time and once more till they were full-on kissing again.
