Chapter 4 - Max-level Boss (1)
Bei Nuan ignored the hoodie man. She hastily asked #3, "Why is the novice halo disappearing?"
Unperturbed, #3 answered, "The task of finding the male protagonist has been completed, so of course, the novice halo is disappearing."
What?!
Bei Nuan stared at the hoodie man.
"It can't be this pitiful guy, who was knocked onto the ground by a zombie, is the male protagonist, right?"
#3 calmly replied, "Decline to give spoilers."
Bei Nuan: "..."
The countdown in her mind continued leisurely. "... Four, three, two, one, ding!"
At the end of the countdown, the beautiful and precious novice halo disappeared.
Another wave of zombies galloped towards them along the sidewalk.
Without the novice halo, Bei Nuan quickly recovered from her shock and ran back into the medical equipment store without hesitation. The first thing she did after entering the store was find the bolt, and then she bolted the glass door and hid behind a row of shelves.
The store was absolutely safe. Bei Nuan had been shopping inside for a long time and was 100% sure that there wasn't a third zombie in the store.
The hoodie man had followed Bei Nuan into the store and hid behind the row of shelves with her. He took out his phone and lowered his voice, "En, I'm in a medical equipment store. I'm with …" There was a smile in his eyes when he glanced at Bei Nuan's big helmet. " a small robot. I'll send you my location."
Bei Nuan was busy observing the movements of the zombies outside. She kind of wanted to cry. Her original plan was to rely on the invincible novice halo to swagger out of the city that was turbulent with waves of zombies.
In the end, she lost her awesome halo after only one chapter. Saving this guy, who she didn't even know was the male protagonist, had completely ruined her plan.
The saving part jogged Bei Nuan's memory. She brought up the Holy Mother progress bar in the upper right corner of her vision.
The bar was empty. No progress had been made.
Bei Nuan was somewhat puzzled. She consulted #3, "Little Three, I clearly saved someone. Why didn't I get any Holy Mother points?"
#3 didn't mind this strange name at all. In apologetic tone, it answered, "I forgot to tell you that you can only earn Holy Mother points by acting like a Holy Mother in front of the male protagonist. I'll help you turn on the notification sound. That way when you earn points, you'll know."
In other words, the Holy Mother performance was only worth showing in front of the male protagonist?
Bei Nuan looked at the hoodie man.
The Holy Mother progress bar hadn't moved at all, so he can't be the male protagonist. Who was he then?
Bei Nuan simply directly asked him, "May I ask what your…"
Before she could finish speaking, there was a loud sound from the glass door.
A zombie had run right into the glass door and was staring through it with its nose squashed. And then, there were two, three, four, a whole group. They were all plastering themselves against the glass, and there were squashed noses all over on the glass door.
It was human nature to love to spectate. That nature was so strong that not even the zombie virus could suppress it.
Bei Nuan was immediately nervous. The glass was so thin. It couldn't withstand an attack.
Bei Nuan didn't dare to peek out to look again. She took out the phone from the bag, turned on the camera, and stealthily raised the phone out from the shelves to observe the situation outside.
Suddenly, there was an ominous sounding racket outside.
The zombies, who had come here to join in the fun and had been leaning against the glass, turned their heads to look, one by one.
