Chapter 5 - Max-level Boss (2)
A pure black off-road vehicle was driven right onto the sidewalk. It made a beautiful turn in front of the store, and the back of the vehicle stopped short of the door. In an instant, a portion of the zombies had been crushed underneath.
Bei Nuan stuck her head out in surprise. She completely forgot about hiding.
The car door opened, and a man got out of the car.
His posture was effortless and graceful. He seemed calm as if he just happened to come by here and stopped to buy something. It was as if the sea and mountain of corpses outside didn't exist.
Bei Nuan had never seen such an outstanding person. Not only was he handsome and tall, he was also exquisite and elegant. He had light-colored pupils. His gaze was sharp and indifferently icy and matched his white shirt perfectly. He had an unbuttoned navy peacoat over the white shirt.
He was leisurely holding a black steel crossbow that had a metallic luster and had a vintage platinum watch on that wrist. His fingers were slender, and his nails were clean and neatly trimmed. He was completely incompatible with this chaotic world.
As soon as he got out, another herd of roaring zombies rushed towards this direction. Baring their teeth and nails, the swarm of zombies swept over everything.
That man didn't even glance their way. Finding it a bit hot outside, he casually took off his coat and threw it on the car seat, and then he raised the crossbow.
There was ammunition on the underside of the crossbow, and he fired multiple shots.
Before Bei Nuan could get a clear look, she saw that the zombies in the front row had instantly stopped as if there was a thick wall blocking their way. A spike had been shot through the center of each zombie's forehead. Row after row of zombies fell down like harvested rice.
After the man had finished shooting a box of spikes, he took out another box. His movement was unhurried as if he was doing a daily task that couldn't be more natural.
The place was cleared of zombies before the second box was emptied.
Bei Nuan looked at him, and then at the fallen zombies. She blanked out.
Where did this big boss come from?
They were in the financial district. Any randomly selected person from here had never killed anyone, much less killed a chicken. They probably never even saw a chicken being killed. When these people were caught up in the apocoplays, ten out of ten would have psychological barriers with immediately transitioning to cutting down a humanoid.
Even the male protagonist, Lu Xingchi, who had a bug-level existence in the book, had a difficult time for several chapters. So how could this person immediately enter a zombie-killing mode as soon as the zombie apocalypse broke out? He had killed dozens of zombies without mercy and didn't bat an eye. He was simply an antisocial character.
"The car is here! Let's go!" The hoodie man pulled Bei Nuan up. Before the next wave of zombies came, he opened the glass door.
The man holding the crossbows was idle and calm. When he saw Bei Nuan, he was somewhat stunned. He was probably shocked because of Bei Nuan's strange outfit.
He asked the hoodie man in a deep and low chilly voice, "Is this the little robot you mentioned?"
"Yup." The hoodie man patted Bei Nuan's motorcycle helmet. "She's quite cute. You can trick her back to be your wife."
Bei Nuan: "..."
The hoodie man smiled with his eyes and clarified at top speed, "Just kidding. We're not bad guys."
After the three people got into the vehicle, the man started the car and drove towards the west to leave the city. He drove like a bat out of h*ll. His turns were sharp, and he was unscrupulous in hitting any zombies that were in the way.
The zombie virus was still rapidly spreading, and the roads were a sea of chaos. There were cars breaking down, cars smashing into each other, and cars on fire. The roads were enveloped in thick billowing black smoke.
As infected people crawled out of their cars, they transformed into twitching zombies and rushed towards other cars.
For the drivers that didn't dare to hit the zombies and drive over them, they were dragged out of their cars and devoured by the zombies.
In contrast, the driver of the black off-road vehicle was like a beast. He firmly and decisively drove forward and mowed down the wave of zombies.
A stupid zombie dashed towards the off-road vehicle and fiercely smashed itself onto the front windshield. It rolled off the car and went flying.
