Andy slammed on the brake. But the red car again changed the lane and sped off without caring about the bike rider.
Sky clearly saw what happened and let out a shriek. She was shivering in her seat while Andy tried to comfort her.
Sky noticed people gathering around the bike but not helping, She got down from the car and checked on the bike rider.
That man still had the helmet on, blood was oozing out from his body, muscles in his one leg was slashed open. It was an obnoxious scene.
It took her a few seconds to compose and shouted at Andy. "Call the ambulance now"
Then she went near the rider and removed his helmet and zipper of his jacket.
She saw his half-open eyes, "Hang-on, you will be saved." Her voice was hoarse.
She checked his pulse and breathing. But she couldn't identify properly. Then she took a few deep breaths to calm her nerves and checked again.
She panicked after checking it and decided to do CPR which she probably learned in her school.
The rider didn't give any response even after a few minutes of CPR. She started losing hope and bystanders started saying he can't be saved .
Sky slowed down her movement and was about to get up with complex emotions, Rider took a deep long breath. seeing it, she checked the pulse. She sighed deeply and Ambulance also reached. They took the rider and left.
The rider was admitted to the nearby hospital. He had passed the critical stage and he was later moved to the military hospital. it took nearly three months for him to recover back to normal.
To know about the girl who saved him, he learned about hacking when he was staying in the hospital and found out about her.
Then he met her in front of her college but she didn't even identify him. She just smiled at him like a stranger and left with her brother on that day.
-- Present --
Sky was completely surprised by his story. "You were that bike rider. That's why you call me as your Savior ."
Sam smiled and nodded at her. All were stunned excluding Peter who knew the story and Arlo who guessed the rider.
"But I just gave CPR. That can't be the deciding factor. Doctors are the ones who worked hard."
"CPR on the road saved me or else I would have died on road." Sam said and rubbed her head who was still analyzing it.
Sky understood now why she wasn't able to reach him in the hospital and why there was no record about him in the hospital.
"What about that red car driver? Was he punished?"
"He was drunk, he met with an accident and... spot death." Police had reported him in the hospital.
"Oh!" Sky responded and faced others.
She had thought something must have happened to the rider on the way to the hospital hence she couldn't get in touch. She relaxed with a deep sigh knowing he was fine.
"Wow! Sky, you were brave." Ethan hugged her by the neck while sitting.
"Me and brave? If you know the after story, you will roll on the floor." Sky removed his hand and leaned on him.
"What happened after that?" Peter asked curiously.
Sky scratched her head and gave a sheepish smile, "People who were around us dispersed after he left. When I was going back to the car, I... fainted on the road. Andy was scared and took me to the hospital. After an IV, he dropped me back home. I told everything in the home but for a few days, I puked my guts out whenever I ate anything..."
Sky hadn't finished it, Peter rolled on the floor thinking about Sky's other funny incident. "Here is one more about our mighty president. You guys know about xxx websites where you can provide your phone number and have phone s**...."
All became attentive to Peter. Sky kept throwing whatever she got to her hand at Peter.
Only three didn't know about it but others were attentive as Peter was an exceptional storyteller. By the end, Sky covered her face with the rug to avoid looking at anybody.
Ryan and Ethan enjoyed the story and teased Sky. Seeing them not stopping, Sky threatened, "If you two don't stop, I will ask people to upload your numbers in all the websites."
But it didn't work on them, Sky's face had turned bright red due to embarrassment. Arlo controlled Ryan and Sky pinched Ethan hard and stopped him.
Sky saw a maid going towards them with a cake and checked time.
They had two minutes to twelve. Then Sam had to cut the cake under everyone's pressure and settled back on the floor pillows.
"I think we should rest now." Sky suggested.
"Oh yeah! otherwise, I can't wake up early and go to the office." Ethan said and stretched his hands.
"I have already asked to prepare all the rooms in the outhouse. You guys can go and rest. Let's go down." Sky took them to the outhouse to make sure if they don't need anything else.
Then realizing one room was less, Sky turned to Arlo and Ryan, "Do you guys want to share the room or need different?"
"Separate!" Both replied. Sam pursed his lips hearing her question.
She asked Sam to take the guest's room in the mansion.
While walking back to the mansion, Sam spoke, "I know you didn't complete the after story, What happened after that?"
"It wasn't anything much. Seeing me like that Brother Jai took me to the nearest hospitals to check about you but nobody gave any information."
"We thought something must have happened to you on the way to the hospital. I thought I must have done something wrong in the CPR as I heard if it is not carried out properly, the patient can lose their life. So I was insomniac for nearly a month thinking about you. Brother Jai used to sit next to me all night until I fall asleep."
They had reached the guest room, "Your room! Rest well"
Sky turned around and left. When she was near the stairs Sam called her, "Sky!" She turned towards him.
"Thank for saving me back then." Sam said sincerely.
Sky raised her brows and asked, "Oh! Shall we sit there?" After seeing him raise his brows, she continued, "Because I need all night to make a list of my thanks."
Sam chuckled and wished, "Goodnight"
Sky smiled with a reply, "Sweet dreams."
Both went to their rooms.
