Sky furrowed her brows. She took the diary and kept it on its place. Then she went towards the dressing table as she replied, "We are not that close for me to tell."
It wasn't that she wanted to hide or didn't want to tell. She wasn't sure what he was to her or what she was to him.
Just some certificate said they were lawfully married that doesn't define they were husband and wife. And she wasn't sure how they would end up.
She sighed and spoke, "There are a new set of toiletries inside, You can use them."
'Everything was arranged even before we arrived. Hmph.'
Arlo nodded and took his clothes before entering. He had read it so many times that he could even repeat it in his dreams.
~
In my eyes, I stored my tears,
In my head, I fought my fears,
In my heart, I held my pain,
There were feelings which I would always refrain.
.
My hands trembled when I thought about it,
My legs shivered when I fought with it.
.
I had heard someone say that
The Night is dark and full of terrors,
But Night or Day, for me
it was painful and full of tears.
.
I dug my face deep in my cushion,
I stuffed my throat tight with my mattress,
There was no way I could handle this mess.
.
I cried, cried and cried throughout the night and day,
Cried like a newborn.
Cried like a fragile child.
When I thought I was alone in this fight,
Brother saw his sister battling with her fears.
He held me, hugged me and said,
My little sister, your pillow is not a garden, don't water it with your tears.
~
He repeated it in his mind numerous times as the water run down on his body. There were no dates. He knew David just briefed about her past and there were many things he didn't know.
The only major thing he knew was Andy's wedding and she left town A to capital. Since she didn't continue writing, Does that mean it was because of Andy?
Was she so affected by him?
Why was she so much devastated because of him?
Was she just a friend or more?
.
He had many questions. After coming out, he saw Sky was no more in her room.
Half an hour passed...
An hour passed...
she still didn't return.
Did she sleep in a different room?
Is she trying to get over on somebody that she still needs time to accept me?
.
As his questions continued to build, he felt a throbbing pain in his head and rubbed his temples sitting on the armchair.
It was one at night when he heard a knock on the door. It wasn't locked but they didn't enter hence he walked to the door and opened it.
Loran who was yawning signaled him to be quiet and Jai entered carrying Sky who was asleep. He stood aside and saw them tucking her on the bed towards the window side.
Jai rubbed her head dotingly and left with Loran after nodding at Arlo. The latter repeated the same and closed the door. He went to the other end of the bed and leaned on the glass wall as he looked at Sky.
She had a soft smile on her face. She looked very delicate and flawless. He understood why she said see you later to Jai. She didn't go to a different room to sleep instead she was with her brothers.
He caressed her hair gently. Probably she felt the gentle strokes, her lips curved a little and snuggled on the pillow. Her movements brought a smile on his face.
For whatever reason, she might have written that on her dairy, it was her past. He wanted to be her present and future. He bent down and pecked her on the forehead.
Due to the feel was warmth, she moved a little towards him. He laid down turning towards her. It was the second time, they were sleeping on the same bed but her bed in the Harley mansion was so big that two-three people could fit it between them.
This bed wasn't that big. It was just a king-size bed, so the distance between them was very less. He didn't keep pillows between them as she did. He fell asleep looking at her.
--
When he woke up Sky was still asleep. Before she wakes up, he got fresh and waited for her wearing his tracksuit. Sky who woke up was about to stretch herself on the bed but retracted. She saw Arlo looking outside standing against the light.
His perfect features of half-face were bright and glowing when the early sun rays were falling on his face. His black mole looked like a beauty mark on his flawless skin.
Realizing she was looking at his face, she lightly shook her head and got up. Arlo turned to her after knowing her movements and wished, "Good morning!"
She gave a feeble smile and wished before going to the washroom, "Good morning!"
She came out wearing a tracksuit and tied her hair in a ponytail to go on a jog. She saw Arlo still standing at the same place. "Arlo? What's up?"
He turned to her who was in a dark red and navy blue tracksuit with white running shoes and black Bluetooth headphones around her neck.
"Are you going out for a jog?" Arlo asked. Sky nodded, "Gym is in upstairs. You can use it."
Arlo thought for a second asked, "Shall I Jog with you?"
"No problem!" Sky went out of her room as Arlo followed her.
She paused and looked back at him before entering Loran's room. Arlo noticed she didn't knock and the room door wasn't locked the same as how she leaves her door unlocked.
She came back with white headphones and handed it to him. "You can hear music and keep your ears warm too. I have earmuffs but girl's style."
Her voice was very low which could only be heard to him. He took the headphones, "Thank you!"
Both had left the Barton house, Jai returned from his jog. Sky bumped her fist with him and continued without stopping. Arlo nodded as greet and jogged next to her.
