"Well, I already told you about the time that I am going to be introduced to the people working inside my father's palace, right?" Alexandra started as she stared at him, eager to tell everything that she bottled up for days.
"Nope," Harrison responded in a flat voice as he stared back at her. "Ehhh?" Was Alexandra's response when she heard what he said. How come I didn't tell him about that before? I can still remember clearly that I told him about it, I think it was a few days before he leaves and goes back to the academy during the night when I was about to fall asleep. "I really can't remember," He sounds like he was just messing around with her or he was teasing her. Alexandra stared at him, not saying anything, her eyebrows creased and her eyes narrowed down on him as if she was glaring at him. She was hoping that he was lying because that would just make the story longer.
"You're just joking around, right?" Alexandra asked him after a sigh escaped her lips, not able to handle the silence that surrounded the two of them anymore. "Well, yeah. It was just fun messing around with you since it has been a long when I was able to do so," Was his response and Alexandra felt the urge to throw the pillow or the book that she was reading earlier which was now placed on top of her nightstand but she held herself back thinking that he might get revenge and throw the book back at her again, knowing how accurate his throws are.
"Ugh, whatever," Alexandra just rolled her eyes in annoyance before she started telling him about what happened for the past few weeks. Starting from the time that she was introduced to everyone, to meeting Rowan and Isabella, to getting along and talking with the prince of Luminaria Kingdom, and up to now. She told him everything, not missing a single detail and as she did, it felt like something heavy was being taken away from her. She was feeling light as she spoke to him.
She was having this feeling of comfort as if she was completely relaxed when she was talking with Harrison unlike earlier where she was restless and uneasy. I guess having someone to talk to and tell them the things that you can't tell others is really comforting and takes away the heavyweight placed on your shoulders, she thought to herself. Harrison didn't interrupt her as she spoke but rather he was listening patiently to her, not missing out a single word she said. There was a calm expression across his face as he stared at her. Somehow, she was taking a long time to talk than before. Well, she can't help it. So many things have happened for the past 3 weeks when he was gone.
Alexandra was like those people working such as spies or agents and telling their boss about everything, like the information that she got from the enemies and such. "And then after that, wait, did I told you that I met the prince before? If not, then let me tell you. It happened on the second day of the Winter Star where I was allowed to take a walk outside during the night with Christian guarding me but being the careless person who has the bad habit of escaping or not telling someone where I will go, I went towards the path to my father's palace because I saw something there. I wasn't thinking during that time and just let my curiosity take control of my body. Then that was where I met the prince," Alexandra made multiple hand gestures and facial expressions as she talked, she could be a great storyteller someday because of this, he thought to himself.
"What happened after that?" Harrison asked in a monotonous voice. Alexandra hummed while thinking for she was trying to remember what happened after that. She responded to his question, "Nothing. Carlos found me and saw the prince, I still don't know that he was the prince during that time not until Carlos greeted him. Carlos told him to go back to the palace and the party before we left. he scolded my right afterward and told me not to tell anyone else about it, not even the person that I am closest to. Not even Diana," Alexandra said and Harrison nodded multiple times.
"Then why are you telling me this if he told you to not tell it to others, not even the one that you are closest to?" He asked, a smug expression across his face as he was teasing her or something like that. Alexandra blinked multiple times as she stared at him before she hummed, placing her hand underneath her chin as her elbow was being propped up by her arm. "You have a point. But you see, I trust you. I trust you so I am telling you this. I know that you aren't going to tell this to others. Well, you have nobody to tell this to because you have no friends, aside from the two guys I saw before but they wouldn't care anyway. Aside from that, you are a kind and trustworthy person. Aside from being kind-hearted and trustworthy, you are also good-looking and handsome," Alexandra told him and showed him a wide grin.
"You know, I can't ignore that one sentence you just told me. Trying to cover it up with some flowery and sugar-coated words, eh?" Harrison said, an irk mark appearing on his forehead. It was the 'Well, you have nobody to tell this to because you have no friends, aside from the two guys I saw before but they wouldn't care anyway' one. He just can't let it pass.
However, Alexandra just grinned at him as if she wasn't scared at what he told her. It's not like she is not used to it already. "Whatever you say, let me finish my story first before you speak, okay? I still have many things to tell you," Alexandra said.
"So yeah, I met him again a week ago. I thought he doesn't recognize or remember me at first so I was relieved by that but then, he suddenly wanted to talk with me alone in the garden and told me that to keep our first encounter a secret because he would also be scolded or something by his father and personal knight. They also told him not to wander off and go somewhere without telling them but he ended up doing it. I find him quite similar to me, to be honest. It turns out that he also has the same bad habit like mine. That's probably the reason why we immediately became close and got along," Alexandra told him and she leaned back against the wall, feeling how cold it was but she still leaned anyways.
"Then after that, the week was already boring and I was feeling lazy every day. There was no thrill or something exciting happening. I couldn't even freely go out of my room during the night because of Carlos. Diana would roam around the palace during the night and enter my room to see if I was still there. So when you suddenly appeared and as I am talking with you, it feels like something heavy was lifted off my chest and I was feeling productive or energetic as ever. Thank you," Alexandra continued. What would happen if he didn't visit today? She would probably be still awake, reading a book so that she can fall asleep right after. Aside from that, she would still be feeling lazy and bored. She wouldn't have the motivation to do something for tomorrow. She was thankful for Harrison and his sudden visit after three weeks.
"Thanking me suddenly, I felt goosebumps and chills running down my spine, that's weird," He said and embraced himself as he was having these chills. Alexandra glared at him and threw the pillow beside her at him without hesitating at all. An irk mark appearing on her forehead, making her have this irritated look. Really, this guy, she thought to herself as she balled her fists. "How mean, I was being kind! Would you like me to get angry at you then? Because if you wanted to, you already did," Harrison just let out a laugh after hearing what she said and didn't say anything.
Alexandra just blankly stared at him and waited for his laughter to die down before she asked him a question which she was meaning to ask since before. "Are you finish laughing?" Alexandra asked with one of her eyebrows raised. "Yeah, continue what you are about to say," He said and let out a sigh, his features relaxing and calming down as he did. He stared at her, "Well, I was meaning to ask this. I was really curious about it, you know and I thought that it's your time to tell me how your past weeks went. What happened with the Elise girl?" She said.
Harrison's relaxed and calm expression turned into a serious one after hearing what she asked him. A chill was sent down Alexandra's spine after seeing that expression on his face. It was sort of scary and he would rarely show that expression when he is around her. He must have had a hard time while he was with her, poor Harrison, she thought to herself. Was that sarcasm or pity?
"She was tiring to deal with. I want to give up," Harrison said.
