Chapter 270 - After The Same Thing

A few minutes before the accident,

"I spot three visual inside the room, sir." One of the snipers who located at the hotel rooftop reported to Flynn. He in charge of this operation as instructed by Madeline before.

"Got it. Standby on my order." Flynn reply as he looks at the building in front of him. He entered the building and went to the fifth floor of the building.

"Any movement?" He asked again to confirm with his men.

"They look like they were arguing on something."

"Good. Just make sure you didn't lose sight of the target."

Inside the suite,

"What do you mean that I'm in danger?" Lily roar when Alex team up with Sky.

"I already explain it to you, didn't I? Why can't you process the word I just said to you? You girls always a difficult creature in this earth." Sky glared at her. He just wants to ensure her safety, but this girl is really stubborn as a rock.

"Alex?! Say something!" Lily then avert her eyes to Alex, who still silent after they watch the lost recording from five years ago.

"Alex!"

Alex sighs before he looks at Lily, who seems likes she's almost burst into tears.

"He's right, Lily. You may be in danger if you're with Keira. Kiera holds a piece of vital evidence right now. Everyone will be targeting Kiera, and you…is not an exception even if you're…the daughter of Benedict Lawrence."

"No! I don't want you to touch my Kiera. I can just filter it out from Kiera's segment and give it to your papa. I can do it, Alex. I can program it back." Lily sits down again and grasps her finger on Sky's laptop.

"No. Actually, you can't." Sky interrupts while gently pull her hand off from his laptop. "If you filter it out those segments, Kiera will reset as a new program. Your Kiera won't identify you as his master again. There's a reason why your mother assigns Kiera to you, no? Do you want to waste it?"

"But, you said...Kiera could bring danger to me!"

"Yes. That's a fact. But I have my own way to retrieve those segments. Of course, it'll only if you agree with my plan."

While they were still arguing, Alex averts his eyes to the glass window. Somehow he feels something is off. Why has it been too quiet? It feels like something is eyeing them from afar.

"What is your plan? What you want to do that I can't do?" Lily shoves Sky's hand and pull the laptop to her lap again.

"Ok! Fine, alright, I'll tell you. But first.." he grabs his laptop from her. "Let go of my baby, please. You're hurting my darling." Sky said with a serious face.

"No, you have to tell me, first."

Feel lost, Sky ruffle his hair a bit. "Argh…fine." he sighs before he continues again. "Let Kiera stay with me for a couple of days. I'll get the evidence out, and until everything is done, and your safety is secure, I'll give it back to you."

Lily scrunched her eyebrow. "No!"

"Yes. You have to."

"No, can't do. Let me do it myself, and you! Stop sticking your nose into our problem."

"Excuse me? This is the deal I made with Alex. I'm the one who breaks through this security brick to find the evidence. Hello? Did you forget? Or have you gone to the moon just now?"

"Shh!"

Scoffed, both of them said simultaneously, "Don't shush me!"

Furrow their eyebrow, both of them turn to look at Alex, who's standing near the giant glass window.

"Alex.."

"Shh…" Alex keeps looking around before his eyes catching something small flying at the outside of the building like a drone.

"Shit!" He runs to both of them and pushes them hard, which makes them hit the entrance door.

Boom!!!

"Alex!!!" Lily screamed, and runs want to catch Alex's hand before Sky pull her body back to the door.

"Lily, don't!" Sky also shocked by the sudden attack. It was his fault not aware of their situation and let his guard down while arguing with Lily earlier.

"Go, Lily! Now!"

"A..Alex??" Lily tremblingly calling Alex's name. Half of the suite has been bombed, and she thought that Alex fell along with the ruins.

"Listen…Lily, you need to go. They are after Kiera. Let Sky have Kiera and find help. Now!" Alex's groaning while trying his best to stay holding the brick with one hand.

Sky pulls out Lily's earring device before he gives it back to Lily's hand. "Here. Go. I'll help Alex. I know there's CIA's agent behind this door, you need to create a concrete reason and cover up yourself, okay?"

Lily look at Sky with her eyes fills with tears. "What about you two?"

Smiling, Sky pat on her head a little. "Don't worry. We'll be fine." 

He took out something from his backpack and hook it around his waist before he drops a small device to the ruins below.

"Go now!" He said as he jumps down while grabbing Alex's body to the ruins.

Do as Sky's said, Lily, try to move the rock that stuck on the door. A group of men in a black suit suddenly appear out of nowhere and start swarming the room. While she was still struggling to open the door, another group of men she assumed was the CIA agent also appeared out of nowhere. They start shooting fire and fight among them.

Bang!

The door is being kicked, and luckily, Lily was standing at the side of the door when they start fighting. When Flynn saw a little girl crouch down on the floor, he immediately lifts her up and moves her to the safest place.

While running, Flynn tries to look at her face. Wonder, whose child is this? "Hey, little princess. Did you perhaps remember who's the person in that room with you earlier?"

Lily shakes her head. "I want my daddy…I want my daddy…I don't know how I ended up in that room...I want my daddy.." She's sniffling and buried her head on Flynn's chest.

"Ok, ok..I'm sorry for asking..but…" He stops his word as he was suddenly attacked by someone from the front. Dodging the attack, he kicked the man and covered Lily's ears with his hand and arm while shooting the attacker in his head.

Fwoosh!

Lily closed her eyes tightly. Of course, she knew what the hell just happen. 'This guy just shoot somebody!'

Flynn continues running down using the exit door. "Uh, what am I asking earlier? ..right..who is your daddy, little princess?" he smiles at her while still running.

Stunned, Lily avert her eyes to the side. A bit embarrassed seeing this guy is quite a likable person. "Um...Lawrence."

"Who?"

"Benedict Lawrence."

Flynn immediately stops his pace from running. "Wait, you're…Madeline's granddaughter? Lily Lawrence?"

Lily nodded, which makes Flynn let out a heavy sighed, "Why are you stray too far, princess Lily? Did anyone not notice your absence?"

Lily presses her lips. Don't know what reason should she give. Of course, no one notices if the one attending the banquet is the robot that Alex created and was programmed by her.

"It's okay..you're safe now." Flynn continues to run until he reaches where's his team has been stationed at the outside of the building. He handed Lily to the medical unit while he went to one of his IT guys.

"Who are they? Did you find it yet?" he asked.

"They are the people from the underground. Most of them are skilled assassins. I think they maybe after the same thing as us."

"Shit!" Flynn walks in a circle for a few seconds before he looks back at the IT guy.

"Is there any trace of the people who's in the suite? The only one I found there is a big boss's granddaughter. Probably she was kidnaped since there's also an engagement party at the hotel next building."

"The image is not clear, and it's like every data has been wiped out the seconds after the attack. Oh, by the way..something has happened at the engagement party. I heard the fiancee-to-be fall from the balcony and died at the scene."

Flynn freezes the moment he heard the news. 'Caitlin?' without any second to waste, he runs as fast as he can to the sidewalk of that hotel.

When he arrives, there are a lot of rescue teams helping the victim for the bombarding accident and a few ambulance and people at the sidewalk of the hotel.

He feels like his legs are about to give up when he sees a lot of blood on the cold brick. He is slowly approaching the scene, but before he could see the body, someone pulls his hand from behind.

"Flynn??" Caitlin pulls his hand. She saw him pass by, and his expression makes her heart suddenly in pain.

"Cait??" He turns around and wipes his tears a bit. There's no doubt that the girl in front of him is Caitlin as she nodded.

"Damn you, don't scare me like this..you idiot." He scolds her as he hugs her tightly.

Caitlin dumbfounded, but she returns the hug. "Hey…I won't die that easily, alright?"

"Good. Then don't die before you grow old and have many wrinkles on your face." Flynn kiss on top of her head while Caitlin chuckles to hear his comment.

'Yeah, we'd only die when we grow old together, Flynn. I promise you.'
