Chapter 297 - Dies In Vain

Curtis kick opens the door, which leads him to the exit from the building, which all around them is covered with snow. There's nothing up here except for pine trees. It's more looks like they're at the top of the mountain instead of the building. He knew it's not easy for the people from govt unit to ambush him just like that. His men are quite strong, to be exact.

But what happened today is a little odd to him, why do those damn rats able to sneak into his cave? Where's his men who suppose to watch over the entrance gate? They won't be able to enter if his men activate the electrical barrier at each of the entrance gate.

Who's the one who pulls the string behind his knowledge?? Just while he was thinking about the possibilities, he suddenly stops his pace before he laughs hysterically.

'What's wrong with this guy?' Sky pushes his body up from Curtis's shoulder before suddenly he felt a big hand grab on his back shirt roughly. "Wha-"

Curtis threw Sky down from his shoulder to the ground. Which then making Sky m.o.a.ned in pain. "Ack!" That was hurt as even the snow is there, but the land's hard as a rock.

Sky tries to turn around when he felt a sharp pain on her ribs. It feels like he is almost breaking his bone. 'Dammit! What the hell?'

"Heh! Among all of the people here, I trust you the most, son!" Curtis looks disheveled than before. He slid his hair to the side and took out something from his suit pocket.

Seeing how angry Curtis is right now, Sky tries his hardest to stand up. 'Move! You stupid leg!!' he grunts and ignoring the pain, he crawls while looking for a place where he could hide. He saw a small pine forest opposite them and thinking of hiding there. Even though it's 100 meters away from them.

"Heh…hahah..hahaha.." Curtis laughs while trailing the boy from behind. 'He even dares to crawl and hide?? Just how bad this boy wants to live after betraying me, huh?'

"Oh, you shouldn't have done that, son! I like you, but what did you do to me, huh? Tell me, just what did you do to make my people whom I proud turn like a useless shit? No one from my men even come to me now!"

He points his gun muzzle to Sky's head and ready to shoot him. Thinking of playing with him a little longer. Well, maybe he can even eat this little guy meat? Who knows from eating his flesh would make him genius too?

The thought of eating Sky makes Curtis suddenly felt hungry. While Sky was gnashing his jaws, holding the pain when Curtis grabs his hair and pull it back.

"Say…what do you think if I make you grilled meat? Do you think you can share your gene with me? Hehe…" Curtis whispered to Sky's ear before Sky turned his body aggressively and wounding Curtis's neck with his fingernails before throwing the snow he grabs on Curtis's eyes.

"Argh!" Curtis touches his neck using his left hands while his right hand was rubbing his eyes. The scratches made by Sky hurt him a little while he is squeezing his eyes in pain!

As Curtis suddenly backed off a little, Sky pushes his body to stand up and look around them. Finding something that can be used to defend himself. But there's nothing on the top of this mountain that he can use to protect himself. The pine forest is quite far for him to run now with his condition. It'll only worsen his injury later.

"Shit! Why do I have to do this alone? Where the hell is another rescue team?!" Sky groans while keep thinking of a way to kill this beast here.

When he wants to walks to the door, Sky's collar was once again grabbed by Curtis before his body thrown to the ground. This time he could hear a faint sound of bone breaking.

Crack! No wonder he can even defeat the moose, his strength is weirdly like a Herculean! He is smacking Sky like he was hitting the soft doll, which could be dispersed in one blow.

"Ugh!" The sky spits out blood from his mouth. His vision starts blurry, and he could feel the warm sticky liquid running down from her forehead and dripping to the thick snow.

'I have to get up! I have to-' in his faint vision, he suddenly remembers something that he hides under his shoes. It's still under his research and not tested yet, but judging for his condition right now, he had no choice except to use it. And..it also his last hope to survive.

"Oh~ where you think you're going, son?" Curtis grabs his hair again and pulls his body hanging on the air. Hanging him spineless while Sky's muttering something. He was so much in pain that he tries to save his little energy for his last resort.

"..u..ill..i.." his body start to feel numb starting from his feet to his waist. The cold air makes him hard to breathe normally as he had to control it calmly.

"What did you say??" Curtis leans to the boy, trying to listen to his last word. He finds it amusing to listen to the 'last word' from his prey. They tend to say something ridiculous.

Sky slowly lifts up his hand with the needle he holds, "You.." He weakly said, "Will…" he pointing his needle right at Curtis's arm. That's the only range he could target with his weak body, which will fall into slumber in any seconds from now.

"Die.." he stabs the small needle on Curtis's arm, which didn't give any effect to the man at all. 

'I'll receive my reward later, but I guess I can't even see it.' Seeing the last smile on Curtis's face, Sky then lost his conscious. 

"Ha! Hahaha!" Curtis laughs and releases the boy to fall on the ground. He pulls out the needle on his arm with an annoyed face. "Stupid brat! Did he think he could kill me using this small needle?"

After Curtis removes the needles, he pulls Sky's leg and drags him to his snowmobile in the warehouse at the back of the exit door like a rug.

After getting information from Flynn, Caitlin runs to the staircase that the mastermind runs off to his secret exit door.

Well, based on the escape route they already study and learn in their academy, the only way out from this place, which already surrounded by an enemy, is using the aircraft. But this place has no aircraft in the open area, so it must be some snowmobile, sled or ski.

'This mastermind obviously has his backup way to get out from here using his vehicle, huh?'

Caitlin rushes to the exit door, and when she arrives, the snowmobile engine already revs, ready to leave the place. "Dammit!" Caitlin kneels down and aims her target using her firearm.

She suddenly saw a little boy body tied to the rear bumper as she wanted to shoot him down. Her eyes grew wider. Shocked.

"Sky!" she tries to hold her voice. Judging from the blood trails on the snow, Sky must've poorly hurt. He probably already dead.

'Oh, god! Don't die on me, Sky!' Caitlin changes her strategy as she hangs her gun on her back and presses the small button on the bottom of her shoes. It turns into skis, but without a ski stick, she chases the snowmobile as fast as she can. She plans on stopping the snowmobile from going far.

Curtis, who just notice someone who was chasing toward him, immediately twist the handlebar to the fullest. As he thought that he already safe, his neck suddenly entangle with a steel rope before his body thrown down to the ground.

"Oh shit!" Caitlin immediately releases the steel whip after throwing the man down to the ground. She is then skiing faster to grab on a rope that dragging Sky with that snowmobile, which cannot be stopped.

As she saw the end of the cliff, she immediately jumped to Sky's body and hugged him. "Oh god, we're gonna die!" She shouted.

They both were flying as she can feel the cold breeze on her face, but then someone grabs on her legs, saving her from falling down. 

Thud!! Crash!!

Caitlin's body hit the hard rock as they were still hanging in the air. The snowmobile now totally crashed, hit by the steep rock and burned, but the rope still intact to Sky's body.

"Cut the rope!" Flynn shouts from the edge of the cliff while still holding Caitlin's legs. If he was late for a second, they both could have died right now. Only god knows how frantic he was when seeing his lover was in danger just now!

Caitlin did not wait long as she found her knife hiding under her arm guard and cut the rope tied to Sky's body before covering Sky's body with hers.

The weight Flynn was holding was lessened a little after she's cutting the rope. He's then pulling them up back to the ground. "Cait, are you okay? Are there any wounds?" He is immediately checking on her.

"I'm okay." She replies, and Caitlin immediately checks on Sky's condition. She's tearing off Sky's shirt and look at the swollen rib. When they were hanging, she could hear a faint sound of his heartbeat, which make her so relieved.

"It's probably broken one or two. We need the medical team right away!" Caitlin looks a bit panic as she then turns on her earpiece to request an immediate medical team to their location.

While Flynn checks on the other team member who's done with their job, Curtis slowly stand up from the ground. The blood rushes out from his neck, and it makes him angrier. 'How dare that girl use her whip to almost slain me!'

He pulls out his gun and aims for the man who is standing not far from him. He thought of killing the man first before he destroys the girl. Just when he wants to pull the trigger, his hands suddenly numb and limps. 

His body starts to feel hot like he's melting. No!! He really is melting!

His skin start falls off from his muscle, and everything looks likes he was starting to corrosive. Even his organ felt like its been burned inside.

"Argh!!!! No!!!" He screams.

"Aghhhhhhhh!!!!"

Flynn and Caitlin were shocked by the scream, and they both turn their body around only to found that the man starts to 'melt.'

"That boy!!!! That f.u.c.k.i.n.g boy!!!!"

Thud!

He collapses and dies in vain, and the remains of his body start to turn black and fall off one by one.

Flynn and Caitlin gulped when seeing those eerie scenes. How could someone melt like that?? Just who-

They both then look at Sky, who still unconscious and bleeding. 'Is it Sky's doing?'
