Chapter 82 - Injured Soul

At the same time, all of her friends were looking through the same information as well after their foreheads were touched by Chanying.

Jiang Ying Yue took a bit of time to make a decision. But before saying her decision to Chanying, she asked her first: "If I accept the inheritance, what will happen to my friends?" She was worried that her friends wouldn't get anything after going through the trials. She didn't want that.

So, her decision would base on Chanying's answer.

Liu Weimin looked at Jiang Ying Yue in surprised at first but in less than a second, he relaxed. This girl, even when presented with inheritance from a secret valley she

didn't budge. She cared about the people around her first.

If this was someone else, that person would probably have accepted it without thinking. Well,, who wouldn't want to be stronger in this world where strength was everything? heck, they could even kill family members if that was what it takes to be the strongest in the continent.

But Jiang Ying Yue was different. She was strict, kind and hold any secrets. But despite everything, she placed her friends first before anything else.

Even both Han Jianyu and Han Jinghua were taken aback. They didn't expect her to ask that. They had seen so many people became cruel and ruthless in front of richness and strength.

Han Jinghua looked at Jiang Ying Yue as if she worshiped her as a god.

Chanying on the other hand, wasn't hand. She had seen this girl's character when she herself conducted the test on her in the treasure room.

Chanying smiled heartily. "Don't worry. If you accept the inheritance, they will need to remain here too. They will receive rewards too and I promise you that it'll be worth it. All of you will be the only disciples of the Symphonia Valley. And hopefully, the valley will see the light of the world again. But if you don't accept the inheritance, I'll have to wipe your memories off."

Jiang Ying Yue nodded. Fair enough. So, her friends didn't go through all the tests in vain.

Before she forget, Chanying continued, "But I must remind you that the training will be hard. You have to endure and persevere. Nothing is free anyways. So, what do you think?"

Jiang Ying Yue turned to look at her friends. Seeing them nodding their heads signifying that they agreed, she had nothing else to be worried about.

Come on! Of course she wanted to be stronger alright?!

"I agree. And I have a question for you. What are you?" She asked. Jiang Ying Yue had already felt weird the minute she saw this woman. She was strong, yes but she could feel that something was amiss.

Firstly, she materialized in front of them. Then, she levitated like a ghost. So, she wanted to know. Was Changying a ghost? Because she was about to run if she was.

Hell! Jiang Ying Yue was scared of ghost okay? But back on earth, she would still stubbornly watch horror movies eventhough she was scared of ghost.

Funny wasn't it? And at night, she would sleep with the bed lamp on just because she would continuously imagine the ghost coming to her or even crawling under the bed.

She was really scared of it and yet, she would still watch the ghost movies. Who could blame her? Ghost movies especially The Conjuring especially was too good!

Chanying looked at Jiang Ying Yue with an amused face. She chuckled as if she knew what Jiang Ying Yue was thinking. "I have died a long time ago and this is my soul's remnant. Although the time in here worked differently than the world outside, but 10 000 years is a long time. I died more than 3000 years ago but I used my power to seal a part of my soul here to find the next successor."

She continued, "By doing this, I can still reincarnate but a part of my soul will be injured in the next life. And I can't enter the path of reincarnation as long as a part of my soul is still here."

"So, even if the part of your soul here managed to combine back with the other part of your soul, your complete soul will still be injured in the next life?" Jiang Ying Yue asked, puzzled.

Chanying nodded her head. "Yes, my soul being injured will cause me to only have half of the talent that I have now in cultivation and I'll be sickly unless I find a way to repair my injured soul. But that is, if I ever discover that my soul is injured as I won't remember anything from this life."

Jiang Ying Yue and the others were shocked but at the same time, their respect for her grew more.

This woman, managed to ran away from the calamity that befall the valley previously, lived alone in this place for 10 000 years even after her death and even took the risk and injured her own soul just for the sake of finding a successor.

"How long do you have before the remnant of your soul here disperses?" Liu Weimin asked.

"I have a time limit of 5000 years if you count it in the outside world. So, after I have passed down the inheritance and taught everything to you, my soul will reunite back with the other part of it. But if I don't find a suitable successor in the time span, my soul will disperse on it's own and this place will blow up on it's own. My soul is what is keeping this place the way it is before i find the next successor."

All of them nodded in understanding. She had spent more than 3000 years here had less than 2000 years left. What if she didn't find any suitable successor?

Wouldn't all her efforts be in vain then?

And at that time, the name Symphonia Valley would be buried together with her. Leaving the world quietly, without any trace and anyone remembering them.
