Chapter 176 Water

Zayne pondered what would happen in the evening, swallowing one spoonful after another, getting some much-needed warmth.

While Zayne enjoyed the soup, which for him was the best medicine in his condition, the world was discussing his arrival at Mage Academy.

"Well, well, I kept wondering what he was doing, but it looks like he had a definite goal, and he achieved it." Alex smirked as he read the news while hot steam was still emanating from his body after the shower.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

Someone knocked lightly on the door as it opened, revealing a half-naked silhouette.

"Hey, if you're refreshed, how about another round?" The woman said softly, touching her lips.

Alex waved his hand, "Not now, it's time to get busy."

The woman glanced at the phone in Alex's hands as she sighed, "Agh, you still think this game is worth your attention?"

"Sure." Alex smirked, "If I were you, I'd start playing too. You may be on top now, but your beauty won't last forever."

The woman frowned, turned, and headed for the exit, "Neither is this stupid game that only high school kids play. The real thing is business or popularity, and that's where I'm going."

Crackle.

The door slammed shut as the woman left Alex's house, got into a sports car, and quickly walked away as if she didn't want to be around Alex right now.

Alex sighed, "Agh, if only she knew how badly she was wrong. Well, enough wasted time, let's get everything checked out and get back to Fallen Fate."

After a few minutes, Alex put the phone aside as he headed for the capsule.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

Suddenly there was a ringing sound from the door. Alex turned around, rubbing his cheek in confusion, "Hmm? Has she decided to come back?"

Alex shook his head, heading for the entrance, "Damn, she never knows how to take no for an answer. It's pretty annoying sometimes."

Crackle.

Alex opened the door, and his eyes went wide. A sharp blade, with a dangerous sheen headed for his neck, instantly reaching it.

Alex jumped back sharply as blood gushed from his neck from the wound that the dagger had managed to leave, then, several gun muzzles aimed at him with blast flashes.

Crackling.

The floor beneath Alex cracked as he sprinted forward at inhuman speed, hiding behind the first passageway.

Alex pulled a pistol from the nightstand, quickly inserted the magazine, and stood in the aisle, preparing to attack.

"Hey, do we really have to be so assertive? We haven't even had time to get acquainted!" Alex grinned, keeping a close eye on the situation.

"What?" A muffled voice came from the end of the aisle, "You ruined what I've worked for years of my life and demand that I introduce myself? Come out, my men won't shoot."

Alex recognized the voice, smirked, and took a step to the side. He met his gaze with a man of age, wrinkled face, and gray hair. He was wearing an expensive suit, and one of his eyes was covered with a blindfold.

"Enzo, long time no see." Alex leaned against the doorway, "You know, you could have texted me, and I would have properly prepared for your visit. By the way, I thought you were going to be mad at me for your eye."

"I am!" Enzo exclaimed furiously, bringing his fist down on the wall as it cracked from the force of his blow.

Alex grew more serious, "Looks like you've learned by now, too, that this isn't just a game, isn't it?"

Enzo smirked as he spread his arms out, "I'm not the only one. My men have made quite impressive progress, too. You may be strong, but you can't win against them all."

Alex frowned, there were ten opponents in front of him, and now the fact that they had guns wasn't the most important thing.

'Well... If I want this to work I need to change the battleground.' Alex said to himself before abruptly rushing into the room.

"Let's go! Get him!" Enzo exclaimed as ten shadows rushed forward, ready to tear down everything in their path.

Crackling.

Alex jumped out the window, finding himself in the backyard, wide enough to fight freely and completely shielded from prying eyes.

The men surrounded him, holding their daggers firmly in their hands.

"Aren't you going to shoot me? This could be a big mistake?" Alex smirked, noticing that none of them had hands on their pistols.

Enzo stepped forward, holding his hands behind his back with a cold stare, "That won't be necessary. I don't want to make any more noise than I already have, moreover, given your strength, you'll probably dodge them, won't you?"

Alex sighed, "You got me. In Fallen Fate Online, I actually got great physical power. I've never felt so good!" Alex exclaimed, spreading his arms as he clenched his fists tightly, making his veins swell.

Enzo grinned, "Even though death is looming, you're still acting arrogant. You could easily deal with a few of my men, but against nine of them you don't stand a chance, especially unarmed."

Alex almost never parted with his blades, but Enzo caught him off guard, so all he had were his hands.

"Enzo, let me ask you something. What do you think is most important? Has your opinion changed?" Alex's eyes narrowed.

"Hmm?" Enzo raised an eyebrow, "What are you talking about?"

Alex just smirked.

"Agh... I see..." Enzo sighed, "My opinion is still the same, the power is the most important thing, you can't be sure of your path without it."

"Hahahahahahahaha!!!" Alex laughed as his laughter echoed around him, "Idiot! I found you that day and destroyed your plans through information rather than power!"

Enzo frowned, "So what? What matters is how it ends. It's obvious that right now the information didn't do you any good, but I'm strong enough to kill you. You've lost." Enzo waved a hand, "Go ahead, get it over with."

The men rushed forward, but they immediately stopped because of the predatory smirk of Alex who stared at them like a hunter at his prey. They didn't understand why he wasn't scared.

Whoooooooooosh.

Red flames erupted in front of Alex as a crimson coin with an amber eye appeared in his hand. It shattered into pieces, then Alex's hands were covered in water, forming blades.

"It's the outcome of knowing what others don't even realize." Alex spoke before turning into a flash.
