Chapter 124 - She Did Not Appreciate Her Tolerance

Li Qin Yao narrowed her eyes. Since Zhao Wei did not know the identity of the investors, then, it was safe to say that both Li Mu Bai and her grandfather had not said anything to her.

"Second Aunt," Li Qin Yao smiled politely. "Why are you interested to know about the investors?"

"I'm one of the managers in QL Group. Don't you think I have the right to know where did you get that source of money?"

"Li Mu Bai did not tell you?"

Zhao Wei pursed her lips tightly and did not answer. Li Qin Yao's words made her heart ached. If her son was willing to tell her, then she did not have to come and ask.

"Since both the Chairman and President did not say a word, then I supposed that the investors will remain a secret. Second Aunt, you did not have to worry. We will be having a meeting tomorrow. When that time comes, you will know who those investors are."

"Mom, you don't need to bother and ask," Li Mu Chen said. She stared at Li Qin Yao and sneered. "Since she refused to say a word about it, then perhaps Maybe Cousin was just embarrassed with the method she used to get those investors to agree."

Li Qin Yao threw a warning gaze to her cousin. She could guess what Li Mu Chen was implying.

"What?" Li Mu Chen raised a brow. "Isn't that's it? How else would you get some wealthy men to invest in that project."

"Li Mu Chen, you must have been reading too many novels in your free time, right?"

"What? Just because it's fictional, it doesn't mean that it did not happen in real life."

Li Qin Yao looked at Zhao Wei and Li Mu Chen alternately. "If there is nothing else, then I will be going first."

"Li Qin Yao, you stop there!"

Li Mu Chen's voice could be heard as Li Qin Yao turned around. As it was only her cousin, Li Qin Yao did not think that she should pretend to be courteous. Just as she was about to leave, Li Qin Yao felt a tug on her arms. Her body was forced to turned around to face the mother and daughter again.

"Did you not hear me?" Li Mu Chen asked.

"I heard you. But I'm just too lazy to talk to you. My intelligence might go lower if I continue to talk to you," Li Qin Yao turned around to leave once again.

Li Mu Chen was furious at her words. She was about to raise a hand and give her cousin's a good beating, but her mother stopped her in time. Li Mu Chen looked at her mother with aggrieved expression. Zhao Wei shook her head and smiled scornfully.

"Li Qin Yao, don't you think it's rude for you to leave when your elder had not given you permission to leave?" Zhao Wei spoke loud enough for Li Qin Yao who had walked a few steps away to hear it. "Oh, I forgot. Someone who was raised a low-bred mother tended to be ill-mannered as well."

Zhao Wei's words successfully made Li Qin Yao stopped on her track.

Li Qin Yao clenched her hand tightly to a fist to hold back her anger. She could not tolerate someone talked badly about her mother. However, at this time and place, she could not do anything but to hold back. Li Qin Yao took a deep breath and continued to walk away.

However, who would have thought that Zhao Wei did not appreciate her tolerance and wanted to continue to add oil to the fire.

"Oh well, perhaps that was why your father chose to divorce your mother," Zhao Wei continued. "Your mother… who did not know that she came from the countryside? To have someone as boorish as her to teach-"

Zhao Wei did not get to finish her word as Li Qin Yao had lurched forward to grab her aunt by the collar.

Li Mu Chen, who was watching at the side started to shriek. "Li Qin Yao, what are you doing? Release my mother now!"

Of course, Li Qin Yao turned her ears deaf from her cousin's words. Li Qin Yao continued to stare dangerously into Zhao Wei's eyes and said, "Second Aunt, I can be tolerant to you because you are still an elder. But that does not mean that I will give you the chance to insult my mother."

"What?" Zhao Wei sneered despite her niece's glare. "You think I'm wrong?"

"I've been lenient to you for years. But Second Aunt," She inched her face closer and whispered. "If you continue to insult my mother, then don't blame me when I send some evidence from two years ago to both my Second Uncle and Cousin Mu Bai."

Zhao Wei's face paled, but she composed herself quickly knowing that Li Qin Yao was trying to play a trick on her. "What do you mean?"

"You should know what I mean. Second Aunt, just because a person went missing it does not mean that he could not be found again."

Zhao Wei stiffened and her expression distorted.

At this time, Li Qin Yao finally released her grip on Zhao Wei. Because of Li Mu Chen's scream, she had attracted both her Second and Third Uncle into the garden. But before they could ask anything, Li Qin Yao had walked past them and head towards another part of the garden.

Li Qin Yao sat down under a shady tree and pulled her knees closer to her chest in her attempt to calm down. Because it was darker around the place she hid away, the others could not found her no matter how long they search.

It was until the others had gone away from that part that Li Qin Yao slowly released her grip around her knees. She leaned back on the tree trunk and looked up at the sky.

At this time, the phone in her jacket suddenly rang.

Li Qin Yao stared at the screen for a few seconds before she decided to answer. "Hello?"

"Hello," Zhang Yu Han paused at the other side. Somehow, he could sense that something does not seem right with her tone. "Are you alright? You… sounded upset?"

Li Qin Yao was stunned at Zhang Yu Han's words. After a while, she forced a smile and said. "It's nothing. I just argued with my auntie, that's all."

"Do you want to talk about it?"

"No. Let's not talk about something so upsetting," Li Qin Yao said. "Zhang Yu Han, have you had your dinner yet?"

Zhang Yu Han smiled at her attempted to change the subject. "It's already so late. Of course, I have had my dinner."
