A little over two hours later, with a dose of some artificial vitality with other things, Reyana had finally woken up.

Her eyes fluttered open, before widening as she looked around.

"Mommy!" shouted the young girl and hugged her mother, with tears dripping from her eyes. Her mother hugged her back, with tears dripping from her eyes, crying.

I have never seen Reyana this emotional; she always had her emotions in control, but now it seemed like the dam had been broken.

Seeing them in an emotional moment, I gently walked out of the room to give them privacy.

I sat on the stairs by the lab and closed my eyes. A moment later, I appeared in my core and looked at the meta-scan of the Reyana and of the parasite.

While it was busy attacking my strings, a few hidden ones had gone inside it. Giving me its complete meta-scan. The more I looked, the worse my expressions would become.

Reyana is in deep danger and if what I am seeing is right, the death would be very painful.

If I had not stopped it, then in a few minutes. When it got complete control of her, it would have woken her up and harnessed her while she was alive. She will feel what Grimms feel when they get harvested inside me.

I studied it carefully, alongside a meta-scan of Reyana, while my clones read everything they could about this parasite.

I was looking through it when the door behind me opened. "Mom is asking for you," said the young girl, and there is somberness in her eyes.

I nodded and got up.

"Please save my mom. She said she is dying," said the young girl, and tears started to flow out of her eyes again.

"I will try," I said and went inside the lab. Where Reyana sitting on the med-bed. "Thank you for saving me," she said. "It is the least could do what you have done for me," I said.

A mirthless smile appeared on her face upon hearing that.

"With your talents, anyone could have hired you," she said, "but not all have given me the chance," I replied, and this time, the smile that appeared on her face was genuine.

I smile and turn to Vana.

"I will go," said the young girl, before I could even say a word. "She is a smart girl," I said, watching her leave. "She is, I wish, I could be with her longer," said with a voice filled with sadness.

For a few seconds, nobody spoke.

"Do you know what happened to you?" I asked finally, and her expression turned serious. "There is a parasite inside me; it had spread through my whole body. It won't be long before it will kill me."

"Today was likely the day. It would have done that, but you stopped it.. somehow," she said, and I nodded.

"Do you know, the kind of parasite it is?" I asked, and she shook her head. "I don't know, the Sovereign healer, I go to have no idea about it; it repels any probing method that came at it."

"It is a good thing he didn't otherwise, you would have been in place you have no idea, waiting for a parasite to mature," I said, and she got alarmed, before looking at me in question.

"The parasite you have is known Ilavias merne," I said, but there was no recognition on her face.

A moment later. A projection of a parasite appeared in front of her, surprising her greatly.

"See that shining crystal? It is an extremely desirable resource. Some people bred these parasites and use them on people for this crystal," I said, and curiosity on her face turned to horror.

It took her a while to her calm herself down before her eyes turned distant.

"I had just leveled up to the peak of Primary-III and got accepted in a powerful mercenary company, with five Sovereigns. The future looked beautiful,"

"My first mission had come from the city, and it was to eliminate people doing the forbidden activities; we raided the place and killed the people. It was a great success,"

"For the next two years, I continue to do mission, before I stopped as I got pregnant with Vana. That's when the parasite had revealed itself and upended my whole life; thankfully, it did nothing to Vana," she said while wiping a tear from her eyes.

"You were lucky that you were not pregnant at the time of its maturity, or it would kill you and sneak into the baby, lying dormant, till she reaches the Sovereign," I said, and she shuddered.

For a minute, there was silence; each of us thinking our thoughts.

"I hope you will be able to harness that precious crystal from the parasite and give half to Vana. It will make her life a little easier if she is wise with it," said Reyana, after over ten minutes of silence.

"Thinking of death. I thought you would want to survive," I said, and she smiled mirthlessly.

"I can feel the power of parasite. There is no way I could survive it. It will be better if yo" She suddenly stopped as if finally registering the meaning of my words and turned to me, with hope blazing in her eyes.

"Can you heal me?" she asked. "It will be extremely risky, but I have confidence that I will be able to do it with a 30% guarantee," I said to her shock.

"Who are you?" she asked in shock. To that smile.

"I would be eternally grateful if you could heal me," she said and folded her hands, while her gaze moved toward her daughter, behind the door.

"It will not be cheap," I said. "I cannot say I am rich, but I accumulated some wealth over the years; I hope it will be enough to satisfy you," she said and the formation on the left side of the wall lit up and a storage ring come flying toward me.

"I want nothing. The resources will be required for the treatment," I said, rejecting the ring, and her pale cheeks reddened.

I knew the ring had been there and the things it has.

"I apologies for misunderstanding," she apologized. "Its fine." I said, "I have a few questions. I hope you will answer them," I added.

"I will not hide anything," she said.

"When did you get the parasite?" I asked her. While I could ascertain it, I want to be sure of it.

"Sixteen years ago," she replied. "Your constitution, was it at the current stage or it was more powerful than it is right now?" I asked, and she looked a little surprised.

"My constitution was at the peak of 12th grade; it was the reason I was able to reach the peak of Primary-III, at the age of thirty," she said and this time, it is my time to get surprised.

It was quite a fast speed.

"What is the level of comprehension you have in your inheritance?" I asked. It is one of the most important questions; her healing depended on it.

She answered it after a few seconds of silence. Hearing that, a smile appeared on my face.

It was the most important question.

For a few more minutes, I continue to ask the questions, and she answered them all.
