Chapter 14 - Are you trying to run away from this prince?

"Your Majesty!" A General came in unexpectedly, he instant kneeled as he entered.

The Emperor's brows furrowed. He was in the middle of chatting with the Prime Minister and his the Crown Prince. Since the Grand Wedding was coming up, he wanted to know how things were going.

"You better had a good explanation for your intrusion." The Emperor glared at the General.

"The Future Crown Princess had been taken away!" Blurted by the General. He never dared looked up, he kept his head down as he kneeled.

Everyone was stunned! The Prime Minister Yu stood up.

"Speak! What happened to my daughter?!"

"Prime Minister, I have heard that the Future Crown Princess had been taken away as soon as she got out of the Yu Residence. She was heading to the market to get more fabrics for her wedding dress. Madame Yu had said so, since she asked for some money to buy them.

The Family's guards didn't noticed anything until they heard her screamed. By the time there have reached there, there was nobody else but a shoe on the ground." The General took out a shoe from his pocket and stood up to hand it to the Prime Minister. After that, he bowed down again.

Prime Minister Yu instantly turned over the shoe. It had their Insignia alright, as well as a small lotus. It was Ronglou's identity. Every family member in his family had a different flower on their shoes. He clenched his hand tightly on the shoe and looked at the Emperor.

"You're majesty, please forgive this subordinate. I must go back home and investigate this matter!" He bowed.

"En. You may go. I will also look to into this, who dared take away my future daughter-in-law!." The Emperor nodded and slammed his fist into the table.

"Thank you your majesty." The Prime Minister bowed again and left.

Seeing the Prime Minister left, The Emperor looked at the General.

"Speak! What happened to the secret guards that I assigned to that courtyard?!" The Emperor clenched his fist.

"Speaking of the secret guards to your majesty. They were all knocked out. One of the guards says that they were likely hired mercenaries. He recognized their logo on their shoulder. It had a logo of a fox."

"Fox? Don't tell me..." The Emperor's eyes widen.

"Your Majesty, It could be the Fox Mercenary Group or it may also be a trap. Feigning that they are the people who took the Eldest Miss. I advised you not to be rash." The Crown Princess spoke. Although he said this calmly, he felt that something wasn't right.

"Since you speak like that, what are your thoughts?" The Emperor looked at his son. This son of his was a genius, that's why he supported him to be the next Emperor. He knew that with Fengxin's reign, he could bring their Kingdom to greater power. Especially because of the prophecy. If Fengxin married Ronglou, it would be like a cherry on top.

"I believe that someone hired them and that it's not directly linked to them. For who it is, we must investigate it. I will also try to find out if they left any clues." Fengxin was good at tracking, it was one of his specialties.

"En." Then the Emperor looked at the General.

"Interrogate everyone in the courtyard if they found anything suspicious before and after the incident. Someone from inside must've told them about the Prophecy that Ronglou was destined to become.

Don't let this news spread! The Grand Wedding must happen! Also, get someone to go to the Fox Mercenary Group! Interrogate them about this incident! Dismiss!" The Emperor's head was starting to ache.

Fengxin and the General bowed down and left.
