Chapter 24 - A life for a life

"The taste of freedom. Hmmm.."

Ronglou leaned her back on the tub, as she took her bath. Though she was still inside the Xu Kingdom, she could feel her body loosen up already.

Truth be told, she actually had an actual plan set in mind. Aside from leaving Xu Kingdom, she also plans to visit a certain place. It is located right outside on the East of Xu Kingdom. That was the reason why she was heading east.

She once feared that place. On her past life right before her coronation, She had been abducted. Some mercenary was hired to abduct her because of her prophecy.

She had never uncovered the Identity of the Mastermind. Fengxin did, but he never once told her.

Ronglou didn't escape because Fengxin saved her. We'll he was about to, just that she didn't waited. She tricked one of the guards who were watching her and escaped from there. Instead of heading to the nearest town or city, she ventured the forest. Fearing that they would look for her in those areas. At least being inside the forest, they would think that it was unlikely for her to go there. Being born with a silver spoon in one's mouth, you would never think of escaping to the forest. Fraught with all kinds of dangers and mishaps.

Well, she actually would've died on that place. Killed by those wolves, who surrounded her at that time. Yet, she was saved by a blind man.

She owed her life to him but he didn't want any sort of repayment. He once told her that he was only there because he was waiting for someone. Someone saved his life and told him to stay there until that person gets back.

It was a coincidence that he was there when the wolves came. In return for that person saving his life, he saved her. A life for a life.

After spending a couple of days inside his hut to recoup, Fengxin came and found her. Fengxin thanked the blind man by giving him gifts and money, but the blind man declined. Fengxin then took her back to the Palace and crowned her the Empress. A year after, Ronglou had the chance to visit a city closed to that place and decided to see if the blind man was still there, he wasn't. The hut was even gone. It seems like it was a dream.

Years after the incident, Ronglou became obsessed about Tactics and Strategizing. She learned all sorts of information, so she could help the Emperor.

The first reason was because Fengxin told her that she was annoying and the second one was, he took in his first concubine. Qu Mingming.

Grrr.. She hated that woman. A white lotus through and through!

Ronglou shake her head, clearing her mind. Her goal was to visit that forest. To see if that blind man is there right now. She was still 5 years ahead of time, before that incident happened.

She knew that she was only trying her luck. If that man isn't there yet, then she'll wait for 5 years. Without that man's help, she feared that she wouldn't be able to stand here again. If she died right then and reincarnated, she would then be back to pursuing Fengxin again.

"Miss? Hongfe arrived." Huangyu announced from outside.

"We'll, he is quite fast." She murmured to her self. Smiling in satisfaction.

"I'll be right out." Ronglou replied and got up. She wiped her body and put on her inner robes.
