Chapter 54 - Smitten

"What did I do?" Jinhee asked, staring at Taehee with wide eyes.

What surprised her was that she responded to her words, unlike the other times where she would simply ignore Taehee. It seemed that she wasn't the only one shocked by her actions; Taehee was too.

"This is a date I'm asking you on, and you can't bring other people on it," Taehee pointed out— A pout forming on her face.

"I-Is that so?" Jinhee's stuttering showed how awkward she felt, and she rubbed the back of her head.

"I'll be there," Jaehyun voiced out, and Chaewon nodded.

"Well, they agreed, so I can't do anything about it," Jinhee voiced out with a small smile on her face.

Somehow she felt glad that both of them were accompanying her because she did not know how to behave around Taehee. With both Jaehyun and Taehee having such feelings towards her, Jinhee was confused on how to respond.

For now, she did not need to address these matters, but one day, she had to. That day was not far away. Rejecting other's confession and watching their heart break was not something Jinhee good at.

Subconsciously, Jinhee let out a audible sigh.

Nudging at Jinhee, Taehee asked, "Is everything alright?"

"Yeah, I am fine. But did you get the video?" Jinhee asked, taking a bite out of her cheese sandwich.

A cheeky smile appeared on Taehee's face, and she spoke out, "Who do you think I am? Of course I did! But remember you promised date with me on Sunday."

Taehee winked at Jinhee and gave a smug stare at Jaehyun, showing how 'she' had a date with Jinhee and Jaehyun didn't.

Noticing the thickened air between them, Jinhee instantly turned towards Chaewon and asked, "Is that Kyungjae bothering you anymore? If he is continuing with that, it wouldn't be just a kick in the knee."

"He is not approaching me anymore," Chaewon answered.

"That's good then! If there is anyone who is troubling, let me know. I'll take care of them for you," Jinhee voiced out, sounding akin to a caring friend.

"There's someone troubling me, Jinhee-ah. Won't you help me out?" Taehee questioned, staring at Jinhee with puppy eyes.

For some unknown reason, Taehee appeared cute to Jinhee for a second there, and driving out that silly idea, Jinhee voiced out, "I'll try and see if I can."

"Are you possessed by a spirit, Jinhee-ah? Do I need to call an exorcist?" Taehee voiced out, feigning concern in her tone.

Rolling her eyes at how dramatic Taehee was being, Jinhee opened her mouth to speak out, "You know what, I take it back. My mind was clouded when I said that."

"I know my Jinhee can't leave me alone in trouble. I can see you being smitten by me these days," Taehee said, pulling Jinhee's cheeks.

Slapping Taehee's hand away from her cheek, Jinhee vocalised, "Act your age, Han Taehee."

"I'm sure, girls preferred these types currently," Taehee spoke out, looking at Jinhee innocently.

"You look like a fool this way," Jaehyun commented, getting up from his chair with his tray.

"It's the jealousy again that you're showing," Taehee retorted.

Looking at how Jaehyun and Taehee was having a battle with their eyes, Jinhee found it better to not intervene between both of them. Instead she picked up her own tray for the lunch break was almost over.
