Chapter 77 - Girl he likes

The lightning bolt struck the ground, and the drops of rain hit against the window, creating pitter-patter. Cold wind blew past her body, causing Jinhee to shiver at times.

Holding the glass window, Jinhee let the icy coldness spread over her body. Her heart felt melancholic as she waited in the empty room. The roars of the thunder was the only sound that broke the silence.

With a glum expression, Jinhee stared at the sky above, hoping that it could numb the pain that was stabbing her heart. Sometimes, she wished she was not capable of feeling emotions.

A tear droplet fell down her cheeks.

Today was supposed to be hers and Jaehyun's first anniversary yet it wasn't her he was spending the day with. It was her sister.

Jinhee tried to convince herself that both of them were together for professional reasons, and before she started dating him, she promised to obstruct his business with her private matters.

However, this did not take her pain away. Was hoping for his work to stop for today a selfish desire? Clutching her heart tightly, Jinhee had a hard time breathing.

Tears continuously fell down her eyes as the lightning hit the ground more fiercely. The sound of her cries were obscured by the roars.

°°°

Swear droplets dripped down her forehead as Jinhee sat up on her bed. The contents of the dream and the pain was vivid to her as if it just happened yesterday.

Everytime Jinhee had a long encounter with Jaehyun, such dreams would be shown to her, as if someone was reminding of her past pains and wanted her to not focus on Jaehyun.

Yawning, Jinhee removed the covers off of her and put her bare feet on the cold ground. No matter what the reason was behind having these dreams, one thing Jinhee was sure that she didn't want to be with Jaehyun.

Checking the time on the clock, Jinhee's eyes widened. Only fifteen were left before the crew assembled at lobby. She had to quickly get dressed and get down before they left without her.

Although the incident would happen tomorrow, today also played a major event in fueling the rumours up in her last life. Rushing towards the washroom, Jinhee attempted to get ready as soon as possible.

°°°

Her white sneakers hit against the marble floor while Jinhee ran towards the crew members standing at lobby. Jaehyun and Chaewon were already present there, and Taehee was nowhere to be seen at sight.

Knowing Taehee's personality, Jinhee thought that Taehee would be irritating her by showing up at her hotel room, but that did not happen. Could it be because of the challenge?

If this challenge could get Taehee off her back for four days, then that's a good thing. For the first three days, she could simply ignore Taehee, and on the last day, she'd try to get Taehee to initiate a kiss for me.

As for how she would do it, she'll think about it when the time comes.

Seeing her, Jaehyun stated, "Let's go now."

With a nod, Jinhee followed after him and Chaewon. Watching both of them from the back, Jinhee found two of them looking extremely compatible. Both of them matched in almost all aspects.

"You must be the girl Hyunnie likes!" A cheery voice exclaimed.

Being caught off guard, Jinhee turned her head to look at the one who spoke. Hwang Myunghoon— Jaehyun's manager and secretary was the same male in her last life.

Judging by his outlook one would take him as someone sloppy, however, Jaehyun would not hire anyone useless under him.

He was the one who stopped her from contacting Jaehyun many times in her last life because of unprofessionalism. Anything that would bring disturbance to Jaehyun's life was stopped by him.

He was Jaehyun's loyal dog.

Jinhee's feelings towards him was neither positive or negative. Since she was not going to be close to Jaehyun in this life of hers, there was no need for her to concern herself with Hwang Myunghoon.

Giving no response to his words, Jinhee continued to walk. It was not that she was trying to be rude, rather she was at a loss on what to say or do.

"Hyunnie has also confessed to you, but it seems that you have yet to give a reply."

That made Jinhee halt in her steps, and she turned to look at Myunghoon. What was he trying to get at? Creases appeared between both of her eyebrows whilst she stared at him.

The cheerful expression from his face disappeared, and it was replaced with a countenance much more serious.

"Don't lead him on," He enunciated.

Staring at Myunghoon with widened eyes, Jinhee spoke out, "I was-"

Before Jinhee could continue, a big smile appeared on Myunghoon's face, and he stated, "Hopefully, you have a nice time here, Jinhee-ssi."

With that, he walked away sloppily and hit Jaehyun's back. A heavy feeling settled inside Jinhee's heart.

'Was that what I am doing looked like?'
