Chapter 121 - Locked

Since Jinhee was sitting at the farthest corner of the library, the sounds from other parts did not

Finishing up the last topic, Jinhee closed her book and let out an exhausted yawn. Looking up, she noticed that the time was 21:13 on the clock.

Growing surprised, Jinhee stood up, causing for her chair to screech back. As she was deeply immersed in her studies, she did not notice that it was this late until now.

It was way past the time one can spend in the library, and she was required to be at the dorm at this moment or else she could get in serious trouble.

"Weird," Jinhee voiced out, "The librarian should have called me."

Wearing her bag, Jinhee walked towards the librarian's desk and was surprised. There was no one there, which left Jinhee wondering on where she could be.

Stepping towards the door, Jinhee decided to leave. The dorm teacher will be checking the rooms at 21:30, and if she hurried up now, she can make her way towards her dorm room.

Turning the knob, Jinhee pulled the door towards her in order to open it. However, her attempts remained unsuccessful.

Not giving up, Jinhee tried to open the door again, and this time she used more force. Nonetheless, even this time, it was to no avail.

Realizing that she was locked inside the library, Jinhee's eyes widened, and knocking on the door harshly, she prayed for someone to come.

"Is anyone there? Please help!" Jinhee yelled.

Jinhee continued to scream until her throat was dry and she couldn't continue further. Nevertheless, there was no reply to her calls of help.

It was not the fact that she was scared of staying alone at the library; It was because she was afraid of what drama will be created regarding her at the dorm.

That's when the lights started to blink, and Jinhee raised her head to look at ceiling. In that instant, the lights went off, and Jinhee's eyes widened.

Although Jinhee was not terrified of staying alone, it was a different matter when it came to being in a dark room all by herself.

Immediately, she opened her bag and tried to search for her to mobile phone. However, she couldn't find her mobile phone in the bag.

Her mind went into the state of panic as she mumbled, "Maybe I have kept it on the table at where I was studying."

Closing her bag and wearing it again, Jinhee walked towards the book whilst moving both of her hands around to feel the objects around her.

As she stood in front of the book, she slowly and carefully moved in order to not bump into the huge bookshelf and make it fall on her.

Jinhee let out a yelp when she felt a little animal— most probably the cat that stayed at the library— leaped on her feet.

Startled, Jinhee abruptly jumped back, and her back collided with the bookshelf harshly. Pain immediately went through her body.

Moving away from the bookshelf, Jinhee was about to walk towards her mobile phone when the bookshelf lost its balance and was about to fall down.

Before Jinhee could comprehend the the situation, the bookshelf came down on her, and a loud scream left Jinhee's mouth.

°°°

An ominous feeling formed within Taehee when she noticed that Jinhee hadn't returned yet. Recalling the events earlier today, she couldn't help but think something wrong went with her.

The day was extremely busy for Taehee today, and she was helpless when it came to looking out for Jinhee today.

When she returned at the dorm room at few minutes after nine, she was surprised to not see Lee Jinhee there.

She tried calling Jinhee's phone, but it appeared to be switched off, and anxiety within her increased.

Avoiding her work today was impossible for Taehee for she was situations those she could not control either.

Unable to wait a second more, Taehee opened the door to her room and rushed outside frantically in order to search for Jinhee.

At the same time, she took out her smartphone and decided to call Chaewon. There were chances of Jinhee being with her and spending the night over at her place.

When the call was picked up, Taehee immediately questioned, "Is Jinhee there with you?"

"No, I haven't seen her for the entire day. Is something the—"

Before Chaewon could reply, Taehee cut off the call and decided to pay a visit to the dorm teacher. Maybe Jinhee had taken a leave.

Running down the stairs, Taehee silently prayed for Jinhee to be safe. If something were to happen to her, Taehee would blame herself and probably wouldn't be able to survive.

She should not have listened to Jinhee's word earlier and should have made the matter clear.

Taehee wanted to see Jinhee become strong against these, but that definitely was a wrong decision.

Due of her situation, Taehee can not be beside Jinhee for the entire time and wanted for Jinhee to learn to fight for herself. But now she was regretting that decision.

"You idiot! This is all your fault! Jinhee is suffering just because of you!" Taehee mumbled to herself whilst cursing to herself mentally.

Taehee stopped in her steps when she was in front of the dorm teacher's door, and without knocking, she slammed open the door.
