Chapter 139 - Love at first sight

Han Taehee's words made Lee Jinhee think hard. Her pride did not matter more than her curiosity at this time, and sighing, she decided to concede.

"I'll agree to it this time then," Jinhee voiced out as she turned to look the other way.

"Will you be asking me questions whilst you're looking the other way?" Taehee questioned as she raised one of her eyebrows.

Letting out a cough, Jinhee whipped her head towards Taehee and shook her head, indicating a 'no'. Lee Jinhee wanted to notice every single detail on Taehee's expression whilst asking the questions.

"During Han Taeho's birthday," Lee Jinhee voiced out, "I attended the party, but I did not see you here celebrating the party with him. Why?"

In her previous life, Jinhee never asked this question to Han Taehee for she had thought that she was one of the distant relatives of Han Taeho and wasn't invited.

However, now that she had found out both of them were siblings, curiosity to know why Taehee wasn't present at the birthday intensified within Jinhee.

If it was only one birthday, then it would've been understandable. However, Taehee wasn't there in three of Taeho's birthday.

Not only Han Taehee, her mother, Han Jihye, was not present in the birthday party. She did not know whether or not Han Jihye attended all of the birthday parties in her last life for she did not pay much attention to such matters.

"Simple, I don't like the parties. I was there beside the lake though," Taehee voiced out, "That's my favourite place."

Thinking about that day, it bought Lee Jinhee the memories on how Han Taehee had kidnapped her, and thinking about that day, it made her feel that Taehee was frightening.

Noticing how Lee Jinhee's hand trembled after hearing those words, a despondent look crossed over Taehee's eyes. Han Taehee had an idea on what it was about.

"My actions that day scared you, right?" Taehee questioned as she looked at Jinhee's face for the answer.

Lee Jinhee's mouth stayed silent, but that silence was enough to let Taehee guess Jinhee's answer accurately.

Tightly gripping her the garment on her trousers, Taehee voiced out, "I'm really sorry for that night. I know, I can't erase what I have done, and my actions have no excuse. But I hope you can look past it although it might be hard for you."

"Hmm."

That was only what Lee Jinhee could say at that moment. She noticed the guilt and regret in Taehee's voice, but past wasn't something one can easily erase.

Wanting to forget about this topic for now, Jinhee questioned, "Your mother, Han Jihye-ssi, wasn't there as well."

Han Taehee started to laugh and, then, spoke out, "There is a funny story about that. Taeho did not eat the breakfast mom had specially made for him.

As she was sulking over it, she did not show up his birthday party. After dad convinced her for an hour, she finally decided to attend, but by then, both of us were gone."

"Oh!" Jinhee replied.

"The next question might seem a little personal, and you don't have to exactly answer it if you're uncomfortable," Jinhee spoke out.

"Just try asking, my little squirrel. Have I ever tried to hide anything from you? I'm always happy when you try to inquire more about me," Taehee stated— adding a wink at the end.

Jinhee let out a mocking laugh.

"Oh! Really? I have couple of questions you haven't answered yet, and I'm pretty sure I can't those answers from you anytime soon," Jinhee said as she arched her eyebrows.

Taehee coughed.

"There is nothing like that. I must have forgot or missed them. Try asking me those questions now," Taehee voiced out.

"Then, why are you following after me so adamantly?" Jinhee questioned whilst she raised one of her eyebrows.

Her lips curved up to a small smirk. Most definitely, Han Taehee will avoid answering this question or reply with some type of nonsense.

"Isn't that because I love you? I think I have told about that to you lots of time before," Taehee voiced out, "You either forgot about it or want to hear the same sentence from me over and over again."

"Funny." Jinhee rolled her eyes.

"How did you even fall for me when you had no idea on who I was?"

'Let's see how you answer this, Han Taehee!'

"Do you believe in love at first sight?" Taehee questioned.

She, then, added, "That's what caused me to lose my heart to you, and even now, this heart of mine is with you."

"Bullshit! I knew that there was no use in asking you about it. Anyways, my question from earlier was why you and Taeho do not attend the same school?" Jinhee voiced out.

Rubbing her forehead, Lee Jinhee tried to ease the headache that was forming. Talking with Han Taehee always managed to give her headaches.

"That's an interesting question? Why don't we attend the same school?" Taehee pretended to question herself and be thinking deeply on the matter.
