Chapter 18 - “Do not let go of him! Or I shall call the police!” (3)
Jiang Xiaoqing pursed her lips. “That’s impossible.”
Qin Yuanyuan, “The filming team bought into it already. I’ve heard that there was a behind-the-scene interview and this question came up. Zhang Xiying did not deny it.”
“Oh, puulleeeaze, Master Mengzhi is my goddess and that Zhang Xiying,” Jiang Xiaoqing pursed her lips. “Her pseudonym Under The Bluish Light came from Enlighten Me and her debut work copied multiple parts of Enlighten Me’s lyrics and setting – she only advocate that she was Mengzhi after she was labeled a copycat.”
Qin Yuanyuan nodded. “But the way she writes bared similarities to that of Mengzhi’s style.”
Jiang Xiaoqing found that even more distasteful. “It was obvious that she was mimicking Mengzhi’s style on purpose and doing a bad job at it. Us, dead loyal fans of Mengzhi hate her the most!”
“Is that so?” Qin Yuanyuan turned and asked, “What’s your take on this, Gu Nian?”
“My take on what?”
Gu Nian asked casually as she scribbled quickly on her tablet.
“On Zhuo Yixuan being Mengzhi. I remember seeing Enlighten Me on your computer the other day. I assume that you are a fan of Mengzhi as well.”
“I like her alright,” said Gu Nian as she pushed aside her bangs with her stylus pen. There wasn’t much emotions in her voice. “I suppose she could be her.”
“……”
Jiang Xiaoqing dragged Qin Yuanyuan over to her. “Stop interrupting our Master Gu Nian when she’s creating. When have you ever seen her cared about gossips like this before?”
“I guess you are right.”
The two of them finally reached an agreement on something. At the same time, Gu Nian’s cellphone that was lying on the bed rang.
“Son son son!”
“!”
Gu Nian, who has a general lack of emotions, the invisible antenna on her head popped straight up immediately.
The other two inside the room looked up, baffled. Stupefied, Jiang Xiaoqing asked, “What was that strange noise?”
Gu Nian thrown herself at the bed. “That’s my special ringer for my son!”
Jiang Xiaoqing, “……”
Jiang Xiaoqing turned and said to Qin Yuanyuan in a low voice. “Anything that has to do with her son, she’d immediately get into an excited state. The more it has to do with her son, the more excited she is – I can safely diagnose that our Master Gu Nian is schizophrenic?”
Qin Yuanyuan tried not to laugh, “Something like that.”
Jiang Xiaoqing, “Tsk tsk.”
Gu Nian couldn’t care less about the reactions of the other two girls. All of her attention had turned to the response coming from Luo Xiu.
“I am free after 7 PM. Whenever works best for Miss Gu.”
Clutching her cellphone, Gu Nian was short of having tears stream down her face.
Sniffle. Sniffle. Sniffle.
Her precious son was too polite.
There was no need to address her as Miss Gu. He could just call her Mom.
Naturally, Gu Nian dare not say that out loud. Not wanting to have Luo Xiu wait too long, she quickly responded back. “Okay. I will come look for you at 7 PM.”
Biu.
The message went out but she heard nothing back.
Just when Gu Nian was worrying about whether something unexpected had happened, a head popped out next to her. “Master Gu Nian, you really need to refrain yourself some.”
Gu Nian turned around and looked at her, “?”
“Just read your own message one more time,” said Jiang Xiaoqing as she pointed at the screen of Gu Nian’s phone. “You sound like an investor looking for a little extra sumthing sumthing.”
Gu Nian, “……?”
Gu Nian didn’t believe her and looked down at her own phone.
Her brain that was in a highly elated state finally calmed down and made a judgment after staring at the message for half a minute – Yup, Jiang Xiaoqing was right. The message sure sounded that way.
Gu Nian, T^T.
Son, your mom is not crazy. You must believe in her.
Perhaps her prayer was heard. Luo Xiu’s response finally came after 2 minutes of silence.
“Okay.”
Gu Nian felt very comforted. “My son was surely a kind, docile, and obedient one.”
Jiang Xiaoqing, “You can tell all those from just one word?”
Gu Nian pointed at the screen and said with utmost seriously, “Look again. There’s also a period at the end.”
Jiang Xiaoqing, “What does that tell you?”
Gu Nian felt even more comforted. “That he’s also meticulous, bright, and take things seriously.”
Jiang Xiaoqing, “……”

An old mother’s love was deeper than an ocean.
